#20, The Hidden Truth of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder:
Citizens Commission for Human Rights: (a public service booklet)
As one leading pharmacologist stated:
“The drug induced reactions are of such nature that an observer could be forgiven for assuming the person so affected was mentally ill and perhaps even dangerous. A person suffering from such reaction, even to a minor degree, would experience great difficulty in being accepted by the man in the street as normal.
How do psychiatrists evaluate the effectiveness of their drug treatments? Scientific rigor and integrity routinely fall prey to their hidden agenda of destructive behavioral modification and control. In one of the 1990 studies effectiveness was judged by the patients becoming less religiously rigid and more “lax” in moral views.
According to the study titled: “The Pharmacotherapy of moral or religious scrupulosity” and published in the journal of clinical psychiatry ten patients were labeled with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Most of them had had strong religious training or an orthodox religion affiliation, or both.
All strongly maintained that their underlying religiosity or moralism was rational and correct. The authors described how these patients with moral and religious scrupulosity were treated with fluoxitine (prozac) or clomopronine (anafranil) both antidepressant drugs.
Use of these psychotropic drugs caused the patients to become more “lax” in their moral views which the psychiatrists viewed as an effective treatment. This was their conclusion: “These results suggest that extreme moral or religious concern and behavior might be a form of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and that this scrupulosity can be effectively treated with scrotonin reuptake blockers.” ----- Given this, a rational person has to question the merits of using mind-bending psychiatric drugs as minister’s training aid!!!?????
In May 1965 at the Second International Congress on the use of LSD in psychotherapy American Psychiatrist Walter N. Pahnke cited the “Good Friday” experiment in which ten theology students were subjected to hallucinogenic drugs. The psychiatrist concluded: “I feel the area of psychology and religion is an area for serious scientific study, especially with these drugs. I feel that my experiment was only the first step.” --- Who knows what the implications might be just for this one discipline that was mentioned? (for training ministers??????????)
