Bob Menendez, Of All People, Co-Sponsors Sex Education Bill

Good grief. Senator Bob Menendez, the uber-creepy Democrat from New Jersey who prefers underage Dominican hookers, is a co-sponsor of a new sex education bill that will limit funding for abstinence education, among other things. Why am I not surprised?

The Statist Of the Union

President Obama’s 2013 State of the Union address was another call for collectivism. He believes government can and should be the center of the lives of his subjects, Er, I mean, the citizens of the United States.

Government To Americans: You’re Too Inept For Home Upkeep

There is not one aspect of any of our lives that the bureaucrats in federal government don’t want to stick our noses into. They to tell us what to eat. They tell the grocery stores how to label salad. They tell us what kind of toilets and showers we can have in our bathrooms. They tell us what kind of lightbulbs to put in our fixtures. They tell us how many miles per gallon our cars have to get. They even tell us how many minutes of break time we must take at work. So it’s really not surprising that they’re now telling us how to do upkeep on our homes, all in the name of safety of course. The message to Americans is that we’re all too inept to take care of our own lives and we need the guiding fist of Big Government.
This week, the Obama administration released a “bold new vision for addressing the nation’s health and economic burdens caused by preventable hazards associated with the home.”
The project has a name: “Advancing Healthy Housing: A Strategy for Action.”
“People in the United States spend about 70% of their time in a home,” the announcement said.
“Currently, millions of U.S. homes have moderate to severe physical housing problems, including dilapidated structure; roofing problems; heating, plumbing, and electrical deficiencies; water leaks and intrusion; pests; damaged paint; and high radon gas levels. These conditions are associated with a wide range of health issues, including unintentional injuries, respiratory illnesses like asthma and radon-induced lung cancer, lead poisoning, result in lost school days for children, as well as lost productivity in the labor force.”
According to the Obama administration, the health and economic burdens from preventable hazards associated with both subsidized and privately owned homes cost billions of dollars.
The new strategy “unifies” federal efforts to advance healthy housing — “demonstrating the connection between housing conditions and residents’ health.”
The federal partners pushing healthy housing include the White House Council on Environmental Quality, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Surgeon General, and Energy Department.

Read the whole thing. When you think of who is involved in this you know it’s going to get expensive.

FCC Wasted $10 Million On Failed Cybersecurity Upgrades

After it’s computers were breached in September of 2011 the Federal Communications Commission was given $10 million to upgrade cybersecurity. Unfortunately, all of that money went to waste, according to a new GAO report.

Civility: Paul Ryan Booed At Inauguration – Booing Started By DOJ Lawyer

Rep. Paul Ryan attended President Obama’s inauguration today out of respect. In return he was booed and heckled.
Paul Ryan, the Republican vice presidential nominee in the last election, was booed at President Barack Obama’s Second Inauguration today in Washington, D.C.
“If things had gone differently in November, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) might have departed the Capitol on Monday as the vice president of the United States. Instead, he faced a chorus of boos as he left the building to attend President Barack Obama’s second inauguration ceremony,” reports the Huffington Post.
How very civil and classy of them. No wonder Mitt Romney decided to skip this event.
So, who started the booing? Was it some random person in attendance? Why, no, no it was not!
And no – the ring leader wasn’t just some random, anonymous crowd troll. He was one of the hyper politicized hires of Eric Holder’s DOJ Voting Section, Dan Freeman.
He proudly boasted that he started the booing, himself today, on Facebook:
Booingclaim
Isn’t it so nice that we’re paying this guy’s salary?
Marooned in Marin has much more on this radical leftist who works for Eric Holder.
In related news, a top Obama aide said that Obama will spend the next two years working to divide the Republican Party. What a shock.

NYT Gushes Over Marxist Mag

Current events may have forced The New York Times to report that the Arab Spring isn’t going so well, but that doesn’t mean you should run out and pay for a subscription. If you do, you’ll be forced to endure articles gushing about Marxist magazines.
When I saw the headline (“A Young Publisher Takes Marx Into the Mainstream“) at MediaGazer, it got my attention because, of course, Marxism is the deadliest idea in human history. Marxist-Leninist regimes killed 100 million of their own citizens in the 20th century but, hey, let’s assign a cheerful human-interest story about this young idiot who thinks it’s hip and cool to revive a discredited ideology.
It’s “an improbable hit” with “250,000 Web hits a month”? Guess that makes me “an improbable hit,” too, but I haven’t had any interview requests from Jenny Schuessler yet. Ace of Spades HQ has had more than 190 million visitors to date and, last time I checked, they were averaging something like 300,000 Web hits daily. However, for some reason Ace doesn’t get glowing coverage in the New York Times Sunday Magazine, and if New York publishers have been eagerly thrusting book contracts at him, Ace has been suspiciously quiet about it.
Almost like there’s a bias or something, y’know?
Read the whole thing. Nothing like a major news outlet promoting an ideology that’s responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of innocents. Fantastic. But hey, maybe they can do some good – they could turn the Obamavilles into Potemkin villages where they can all gush over all of the progress that’s been made in the past four years.

Terrorist Bill Ayers To Give Keynote Speech At Teacher Convention

There was a time when a domestic terrorist would be shunned by society. Those days are over. Just look at President Obama’s old pal Bill Ayers. He’s going to be delivering the keynote speech at a teachers convention next month. Isn’t that special?
Left-wing ’60s radical and onetime domestic terrorist Bill Ayers will be a keynote speaker at the Association of Teacher Educators annual conference in Atlanta next month.
Ayers gained notoriety alongside his wife Bernardine Dohrn as a member of the Weather Underground during the Vietnam War. He was involved in Chicago’s “Days of Rage” riot in 1969 and went underground as a fugitive from justice after an accidental Greenwich Village townhouse explosion in 1970 killed three Weather Underground members who were preparing a bomb that prematurely detonated.
Ayers admitted in a 2001 book that he participated in bombings of the New York City Police Department headquarters, the U.S. Capitol Building and the Pentagon in the early 1970s. (Read More)

CNN Journalist Tired Out After Writing A Letter To Obama Every Day For Four Years

It’s no secret that the media is in love with President Obama, but this guy Tom Foreman at CNN is has taken it over the top. This is freaky-deaky! He has written a letter to Obama every single day over the past four years.
Inauguration Day will signal the culmination of an effort I launched on January 20, 2009, to write a letter to the White House every single day of Barack Obama’s first term.
And I do mean every day. Weekends, holidays, when he was on vacation, and when I was on vacation. I wrote in my office, at home, in moving airplanes, cars, trains and even while running through the woods. I wrote early in the morning, in the middle of the day and late at night.
I wrote about things that were important, like unemployment, Afghanistan and women’s rights. I also wrote about things that were trivial, like sports, favorite foods and my yearly battle with Christmas lights.
The tally: 1,460 letters, well over a half-million words, or enough to fill about seven novels. Laid out as one line of text, these letters would stretch almost 3½ miles or considerably longer than the inaugural parade route.
I did not intend to get in this deep. (Read More)
This guy needs some psychological help. He asked Obama to call him in just about every letter, and wrote as if the two of them are life-long friends. But he never did get that phone call.
Gateway Pundit summed it up quite neatly “Crazed Obama stalker moonlights as CNN journalist.” And Poor Richard’s News wonders why CNN would continue to employ someone so deranged.
CNN should be embarrassed that they’ve kept this guy in their employment for the past four years. To allow someone with what appears to be a quite unhealthy obsession with President Obama to work as a “journalist” is unconscionable.
But there are still some people out there who believe that CNN is not biased. Good grief.
