South Carolina House Passes Bill Making ‘Obamacare’ Implementation a Crime

The South Carolina state House passed a bill Wednesday that declares President Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to be “null and void,” and criminalizes its implementation.

The state’s Freedom of Health Care Protection Act intends to “prohibit certain individuals from enforcing or attempting to enforce such unconstitutional laws; and to establish criminal penalties and civil liability for violating this article.”

The measure permits the state Attorney General, with reasonable cause, “to restrain by temporary restraining order, temporary injunction, or permanent injunction” any person who is believed to be causing harm to any person or business with the implementation of Obamacare.

Earlier this year in her state of the state address, Gov. Nikki Haley said that South Carolina does not want and cannot afford the president’s plan, “not now, not ever.”

President Obama has pledged “an unprecedented level of openness” and “a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration,” and observed that public participation “enhances the Government’s effectiveness and improves the quality of its decisions.” Unfortunately, evidence from the 2012 Unified Agenda suggests that many economically significant regulations may be put in place over the coming year without the benefit of public involvement.

 ‘I am ashamed of my country’

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh gave a blunt assessment of how the White House has taken control of the sequester message: “It just makes me ashamed.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country,” he said on his radio program Thursday. “To be watching all of this, to be treated like this, to have my intelligence — all of us — to have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it’s being, is — it just makes me ashamed.”
He made the statements while discussing the automatic spending cuts that will hit federal budgets at the end of this month. Congress and the White House are engaged in discussions to offset these cuts — and it’s like old times, Mr. Limbaugh argues.
The radio host accused President Obama of pointing fingers at Congress — specifically, Republicans — for stymieing his plans to help middle-class Americans, despite proposing cuts that are actually cuts in planned spending.
“Here we get worked up over $44 billion,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “That’s the total amount of money that will not be spent that was scheduled to be spent this year. And in truth, we’re going to spend more this year than we spent last year. We’re just not going to spend as much as projected.”
The media is nonetheless drumming up mass hysteria over the looming budget cuts, he said.
“It’s insulting,” he said. “I don’t know how else to describe it.”

TRENTON, N.J. — On the same day he visited President Obama at the White House to discuss Superstorm Sandy cleanup efforts, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie vetoed legislation establishing a state-run health insurance exchange Thursday.
He blamed the Obama administration for failing to provide the answers he said he needs to make a fiscally sound decision on the best way to comply with the president’s health care law.
The governor said he has not eliminated any of the options available to states to comply with the national health care overhaul. But he said it would be irresponsible to choose one over the others without knowing the costs of each.
“New Jersey and all other states still await substantial federal guidance on the functioning of all three types of exchanges,” Mr. Christie said in his veto message. “To be sure, the decision of whether to move forward with a state-based exchange can only be fully understood when competitively compared to the overall value of the other options.”  Cont. I don't know about you, but just reading the title to this article sent a chill up my spine and made my hair stand up on the back of my neck!

Obama's broken record

President Obama says he needs four more years to finish the job he started. That’s his way of admitting he’d rather Americans not look too closely at his poor job performance so far. The Obama campaign slogan “Forward” is apt because Barack doesn’t want voters to look backward at the wreckage in his wake.
Exhibit A is the nearly trillion-dollar “stimulus” package of 2009 that promised to lower unemployment rates to about 5.5 percent by now. Instead, it’s 8.1 percent, and it’s only that low because 368,000 stopped looking for work and aren’t counted by bureaucrats. Democrats warned if the stimulus plan were rejected, unemployment in the third quarter of 2012 would be way up at 6 percent. In retrospect, the country could have avoided adding a huge chunk to the national debt and still had more people working today if that boondoggle hadn’t been enacted. Cont. Reading

 It's telling that some are heralding 7.8 percent unemployment as a hopeful sign. After all, Americans used to consider joblessness the exception, not the rule.
