An Essay on FDR, Obama & Big Government

While 75 years separate the presidencies of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Barack Hussein Obama, they are both big government liberals who firmly believed that when it comes to economic downturns and poverty,

Final Thoughts On The Eve Of Election Day

On the eve of Election Day I want to leave you with one last thought. It’s not something that comes from me, but rather a dear friend and neighbor. He shared the below comment in a recent post I wrote and I found it compelling because he’s not a political junkie like myself, but rather a concerned citizen who sees the writing on the wall from the last four years. It is my strong belief that when the millions of Americans show up to vote tomorrow, there will be more people who feel like my friend, than those who do not!
The past four years under Obama have been the absolute worst for me in my thirty year career in advertising. Numerous job cuts, pay cuts, company’s forced to downsize and or go out of business, working longer hours without extra pay. Additionally my employer due to rising excessive insurance plan costs having no option but to pass on an extremely high deductible, poor coverage insurance plan onto its employee’s. Had enough!!! Romney’s got my, and my wife’s vote!!!
Sincerely,
Tired and frustrated

Hulk Hogan, John Elway, Kelsey Grammer Among Some of Mitt Romney’s Supporters

Posted on October 27, 2012 by Andoni Demetriades

While the value and importance of endorsements by famous people is debatable, it’s still a reality nonetheless when it comes to presidential campaigns. And though most of the attention is placed on the star-studded names surrounding President Obama, it’s worth noting some of the big names backing Mitt Romney too.

It is a list that not only continues to grow, but is growing among folks who are disenfranchised Democrats not satisfied with the job Obama has done in the last four years. A few examples are businessman Lee Iacocca, SNL funnyman Rob Schneider, and Metal rocker Gene Simmons, who are all lifelong Democrats.

Lastly, in one or two cases, an individual (like Chuck Norris or Steve Wynn) may not have out right professed their support for Romney, but their denunciation of Obama has been so explicit, where it’s just as good in my opinion. Click any of the names below to see the details of their endorsement and/or support for Romney.

Obama; The Grand Truth Teller?

In the first presidential debate, President Obama kept referring to economists who provided the data for his criticism of Mitt Romney’s tax plan which entails $5 trillion in tax cuts. It’s a line he’s been regurgitating all over the campaign trail to the American people. One of those economists, we have learned, is Princeton University professor Harvey Rosen, who has said he “can’t tell exactly how the Obama campaign reached that characterization of my work.”
Furthermore, the president’s own deputy campaign manager conceded to CNN host Erin Burnett that the $5 trillion number is wrong! Her exact words were, It won’t be near $5 trillion, but…” Well, you know what they say about anything that follows the word but.

Obama’s Popularity vs. Obama’s Record

One of the things we hear talked about frequently by members of the mainstream media during an election cycle is the favorability factor or the popularity factor of the candidates. And if you watch any station other than FOX News, they declare with great enthusiasm how Mitt Romney trails Barack Obama in this category. I find it shocking that people focus more on this than they do Obama’s dismal record as president.
Yes, it is a sad reality, indeed, that many people place more importance on things like President Obama’s Hollywood friends or the fact he can belt out a halfway decent Al Green tune over job numbers and billions in new national debt. With SNL spoofs and journalists telling us how “cool” the president is, people have become fixated on the wrong things. Yes, he brews his own beer, refers to Justin Bieber as “Biebs,” and plays golf, lots and lots of golf. We get it; President Obama is the quintessential Renaissance man. But the real question is are you better off – is the country honestly better off – four years later?
Now, if you’re a liberal you might be tempted to invoke the name of George W. Bush at this time. Unfortunately, that argument is no longer viable. It’s called ownership, and after nearly four years with President Obama at the helm, he owns this economy. I wholeheartedly admit the president inherited a very turbulent economy. Conservatives have never denied this fact. But the record clearly shows matters have not gotten better, but rather worse on his watch.
While the television networks focus on Romney “losing the popularity gap,” let us focus on the ugly truth concerning President Obama’s record. For the last forty-three months we’ve had an unemployment rate that has been at or above 8%. Forty-three months! Currently, the rate is 8.1%. The last time unemployment has been this high and for this long was during the Great Depression roughly 80 years ago.

Dennis Miller A Champion For Common Sense |

There is a very simple reason why Dennis Miller’s radio career has gone so well; he’s the king of rants and, in my opinion, the king of common sense. Miller, who’s heard in all of the top 24 radio markets, was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night.
“I want to help the helpless, but I don’t give a rat’s ass about the clueless anymore” Miller told Leno. This logic is one of the fundamental differences between conservatives and liberals. It’s a simple line, one I’ve heard Miller use before over the years, that has greatly help shape my political outlook. A little thing called Personal Responsibility.
Helping the helpless would be financial assistance for the man who was laid off from full-time work due to no fault of his own (i.e. downsizing or merger & acquisition). Helping the clueless would be providing free birth control, at the expense of others, for a girl who has been fortunate enough to attend one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Buy your own damn contraceptives Ms. Fluke, thank you very much!
What I also found encouraging was the crowd seemed to agree with a lot of Miller’s common sense musings. Hopefully it penetrates open-minded people enough where they’ll do the right thing come election time.  Cont. Reading

Another winner from the RJC

Campaign ads are a dime a dozen during the months leading up to a presidential election and, thus, can easily be dismissed. The most effective ads this season, in my opinion, have come from the Republican Jewish Coalition. In roughly one minute spots they have been making an extremely sound case against President Obama! The following is another winner from their “My Buyer’s Remorse” series.
