In the long run the Saudis will win, and the US petroleum and shale producers will lose. The cost to drill and produce will exceed any returns; thus driving the US producers out of business and insuring not only our dependence upon foreign oil, but the continued financing of those who wish to destroy us.
Meanwhile, the movers and shakers continue to finance "green" projects under the guise of clean energy. Perhaps they are more interested in making a fast buck than in the energy self-sufficiency and overall economic health of America.
