I CAN'T BREATHE!! I CAN'T BREATHE!! We here the protesters chanting
It was the cries of a man that was held in a choke hold. There is no denying
Police pounce on a big black man resisting arrest. It's on video in full view
They need to handcuff him but he is resistant. He is too difficult to subdu
A cop uses excessive force against this felon who is a very, very large man
Pinned down as he is we hear those awful words. He dies in a short time span
Did the officer intend to kill him?? Moreover was it because he was black??
A Grand Jury comes to a decision. An indictment from them is not coming back
Outrage from the public. The race baiters lick their chops but this is not Ferguson
For this is the city of New York. Widespread violence you won't be seein'
I am shocked. Surely there should be a charge of reckless endangerment
Something is too askew. What has happened should give us discouragement
But we hear this Mayor DeBlasio bringing up the race issue once more
How inflammatory this all is and something we should all come to abhor
There stands Al Sharpton with his head held high ready with fiery talk
No evidence is there of racial animus by the police. Let Al take a long walk
The same cast of characters take center stage making a bad situation worse
Their hate comes from the depths of their tortured soul. It is oh so perverse
In two weeks there has been 2 grand jury decisions. One incomprehensible
We need to stop over reacting and acting in ways that are contemptible
The whole world is watching and I'm sure they do not like what they see
The hate that simmers in this country affects each of us so very deeply
A better dialogue must be established. Most of all in each minority community
The rule of law is what we must have or we'll be in the throes of tyranny
