Obamacare Mandate: Anyone Who Works 30-Hour Week Is Now ‘Full-Time’

A little-known section in the ObamaCare health reform law defines “full-time” work as averaging only 30 hours per week, a definition that will affect some employers who utilize part-time workers to trim the cost of complying with the ObamaCare rule that says businesses with 50 or more workers must provide health insurance or pay a fine.


“The term ‘full-time employee’ means, with respect to any month, an employee who is employed on average at least 30 hours of service per week,” section 1513 of the law reads. (Scroll down to section 4, paragraph A.)

That section, known as the employer mandate, requires any business with 50 or more full-time employees to provide at least the minimum level of government-defined health coverage to those employees.

In other words, a business must provide insurance if it has 50 or more employees working an average of just 30 hours per week, which is 10 hours per week fewer than the traditional 40-hour work week.

Great Story : Surplus B-17, American Nohow

It is still there and still a tourist attraction

Shortly after WWII a guy named Art Lacey went to Kansas to buy a surplus B-17. His idea was to fly it back to Oregon , jack it up in the air and make a gas station out of it. He paid $15,000 for it. He asked which one was his and they said take whichever you want because there were miles of them. He didn't know how to fly a 4-engine airplane so he read the manual while he taxied around by himself. They said he couldn't take off alone so he put a mannequin in the co-pilot's seat and off he went.

He flew around a bit to get the feel of it and when he went to land he realized he needed a co-pilot to lower the landing gear. He crashed and totaled his plane and another on the ground. They wrote them both off as "wind damaged" and told him to pick out another. He talked a friend into being his co-pilot and off they went.

They flew to Palm Springs where Lacey wrote a hot check for gas. Then they headed for Oregon . They hit a snow storm and couldn't find their way, so they went down below 1,000 feet and followed the railroad tracks. His partner sat in the nose section and would yell, "TUNNEL" when he saw one and Lacey would climb over the mountain.

They landed safely, he made good the hot check he wrote, and they started getting permits to move a B-17 on the state highway. The highway department repeatedly denied his permit and fought him tooth and nail for a long time, so late one Saturday night, he just moved it himself. He got a $10 ticket from the police for having too wide a load.

Words cannot express my disgust! Why have you not yet signed Senator Jim DeMint's letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid vowing to oppose ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST)? Why could you not bring yourself to sign a letter opposing a tyrannical United Nations inspired scam that would compel us to pay a global tax to a made-up international body of America-haters for the privilege of using the world's oceans and seas?

Have you taken leave of your senses, or do you simply believe that the American people are stupid? LOST was intentionally designed to erode our sovereignty, promote the redistribution of wealth on a global scale, cripple the ability of the United States Navy to protect this great country, oblige us to share intelligence and proprietary technology with unfriendly nations; and it will further cripple our economy in a time of recession.

Senate DeMint wrote that LOST "reflects political, economic, and ideological assumptions which are inconsistent with American values and sovereignty." He put it mildly. LOST is unconstitutional, it is tyrannical, and it is un-American.

Our sovereignty is not for sale. The people of the United States do not kneel and pay homage to third-world, America-hating despots, and we will not tolerate any betrayals on something as basic as compromising our God-given freedoms. Put a stop to this insanity and sign Senator DeMint's letter opposing the Law of the Sea Treaty. Do it today. If not, you can kiss this great country and your political careers good-bye!

Democrats Bad Bet Comes Due Tomorrow

Tomorrow, at around 10:30am EDT, the Democrat-left-media complex will launch the most aggressive and sustained attack on the institution of the Supreme Court in the history of our Republic. When the Court throws out at least some portion of ObamaCare tomorrow, President Obama and his partisans on the left and in the media will effectively declare war on the third co-equal branch of government and seek, in every possible way, to undermine the legitimacy of the Court.

They have already tried to lay the groundwork for their attacks.Politico today even unearthed disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner to test-drive the coming partisan attacks against the Court. Glimpses of these attacks have been around since oral arguments back in March, but when the reality of the Court's rejection of Obama's signature "achievement" becomes clear, the ferociousness of the attacks will be like nothing we've ever seen. It bears repeating: the left is willing to destroy the credibility of the Supreme Court in order to defend their policy failure.

A lot is being said in the media about Mitt Romney not being "likable"
or that he doesn't "relate" well to people. We struggled to understand 
why... he is after all… drop dead handsome, has a beautiful wife... isn't 
that enough to ensure popularity for most Americans? So after much 
research, we have come up with a Top Ten list to explain this 
unlikability.

Top Ten Reasons To Dislike Mitt Romney

Successful, self-made businessman. (Dad didn't give him a hand-out...
 he and Ann had to make it on their own)

 2. Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been FAITHFUL to 
her.

 3. No scandals or skeletons in his closet. (How boring is that?)

 4. Can't speak in a fake southern black preacher voice when necessary.
 
5. Knows the real meaning of giving service to his fellow man and 
quietly shows it in his everyday life.

6. Has pots of money (made it all himself) and since nobody else in this
 country has any desire to have pots of money... we don't like him!!!

7. Has a family of great boys... none of them are in drug rehab.
 
8. Doesn't smoke (even in secret), drink alcohol, or do drugs (not even
in college, where other people were NOT inhaling)

9. Represents an America of "yesterday", where people believed in God, 
went to Church, didn't screw around, worked hard, and became a SUCCESS! 
(We can't relate to such an anachronism!)
 
 10. Oh yes... he's a MORMON. The religion that teaches its members to 
be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, 
self-reliant, honest, upright and MORAL!

 And one more point... pundits say because of his wealth, he can't relate  to ordinary Americans. I guess that's because he made that money ALL BY
 HIMSELF... as opposed to marrying it (as in John Kerry) or inheriting it
 from Dad (as in Jack, Robert & Ted Kennedy.) We didn't understand that
actually working at a job and earning your own money made you unrelatable 
to Americans.
