It was 64 years ago yesterday that George Orwell's book 1984 was published; it portrays a nightmare world where the state monitors all your actions all the time through it's TV screens, and informants (many being children) in a totally locked down control matrix of a society. It even presents an image through Winston Smiths interrogator of a permanent in the face of humanity.
It was also yesterday that a friend of mine sent me a story from Fox about Obama using Verizon to secretly seizing all its customers phone records through a court order. I am sure many conservatives are quite outraged (and hopefully those who vote democrat as well). However, when I heard the news I just thought to myself meh! I went to politely tell them that this is nothing new as they have been doing it for years!
This violation of the 4th Amendment did not originate with Obama but government was given the green light to act in way this under section 2:15 of the Patriot Act. Something that was signed into existence first by George W Bush and later renewed under Obama.
I cannot recall any Republicans expressing any concerns about the Patriot Act during the GWB presidency. Furthermore, there has been very few voices on the side of the Democrats who have expressed anything critical about the same act when Obama decided renewed it. This silence is quite telling about the about the self serving, ignorant, cowardly individuals that are sent to Washington in the false left right paradigm that forms the basis of the US political system! All indignation and emotions made by them now is after the fact and merely adds to the theatre of entertainment of the US political landscape. They are merely acting out for their constituencies and interest groups.
Going back to the fact Fox Nation broke the story the question that also comes to mine is why have they been silent on this matter for years? Where is the investigative journalism of this network that prides itself on the truth since 9/11 and before that? (or of all the other networks for that matter). We saw them get indignant over their fellow journalists at AP getting tapped by Eric Holder but have been silent about legislation being in place since 1994 allowing the US government to tap everyone. When the alternative media alerted people to government spying on its citizens for years in this manner they merely dismissed such people as 'conspiracy theorists' the 'tin foil hat' brigade among other things!
What has not being publicized that much is the warnings from the same tin foil hatters that makes Verizon seem merely a tip of the iceberg. They have given similar warnings on other corporations such as Microsoft, Facebook, and Google.
In fact Google was fined recently in Europe for spying on citizens WI FI signals with their vehicles. This is the same Google who's CEO Eric Schmidt' famously (and brazenly said)
"if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to be afraid of"
Interestingly, The Washington Examiner's Tim Carney pointed out that the administration is filled with Googleites and that President Obama and Google have a long standing love affair!(via breitbart.com).
Eric Schmidt even helped Obama's re election in 2012
It has been reported that he, "helped recruit talent, choose technology, and coach the campaign manager, Jim Messina, on the finer points of leading a large organization," (via breitbart.com).
So how much information has been collected on, 'We the people' you may ask?
Since 9/11 it has been estimated to be in the region of enough to fill three pentagon scale buildings!
What are they using this information for you might ask?
You may as well ask what do regimes such as the Nazis or the former Soviet Union want with extensive data on all their citizens.
Its certainly cannot be justified as part of the war on terror unless 'we the people' are now all terrorist suspects!Sadly, too many people on the conservative side want to play partisan politics and single out Obama as guilt when in reality even if he is removed this will still carry on by, very likely, by one of the same people in the GOP who is making indignant noises now when he was silent for years! People of a progressive voting nature need to also consider being good Americans rather than giving allegiance to the present king on the Washington throne!

Please drop the false skepticism and emotions and get informed rather than allowing the mainstream media and your Washington Hacks that go to Congress to dictate the talking points.
