Dennis Miller A Champion For Common Sense |
There is a very simple reason why Dennis Miller’s radio career has gone so well; he’s the king of rants and, in my opinion, the king of common sense. Miller, who’s heard in all of the top 24 radio markets, was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night.
“I want to help the helpless, but I don’t give a rat’s ass about the clueless anymore” Miller told Leno. This logic is one of the fundamental differences between conservatives and liberals. It’s a simple line, one I’ve heard Miller use before over the years, that has greatly help shape my political outlook. A little thing called Personal Responsibility.
Helping the helpless would be financial assistance for the man who was laid off from full-time work due to no fault of his own (i.e. downsizing or merger & acquisition). Helping the clueless would be providing free birth control, at the expense of others, for a girl who has been fortunate enough to attend one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Buy your own damn contraceptives Ms. Fluke, thank you very much!
What I also found encouraging was the crowd seemed to agree with a lot of Miller’s common sense musings. Hopefully it penetrates open-minded people enough where they’ll do the right thing come election time. Cont. Reading
