The New York Times finally makes the Trump admission we have all been waiting for

If the New York Times ever wants to be considered a legitimate news source, perhaps they ought to put more effort into accurately reporting the facts, instead of twisting everything to fit the narrative they want to push.

Apparently the publication has admitted to misquoting President Trump five times in the wake of the
Charlottesville protests.

Not once. Five times.

According to the Daily Caller:

Four of the corrected reports misquoted what Trump said about who is to blame for the violence, and a fifth report from two star reporters misquoted what Trump said about the push to tear down Confederate statues. One of the corrections is egregious, while others are fairly minor, but taken together they reveal a trend of careless mistakes in reporting on Trump’s remarks.

Two reports misquoted this line from Trump’s initial statement on the violence: “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides — on many sides.”

Reporter Glenn Thrush dropped the ball on this particular quote:

“Correction: August 14, 2017 An earlier version of this article misquoted part of President Trump’s statement on the violence in Charlottesville, Va. He blamed ‘many sides,’ not ‘all sides,’ for the violence that left one woman dead.”

Next up to the plate is Andrew Ross Sorkin who followed in Thrush’s footsteps, also bungling the same quote from Trump in a report about allegedly angry CEOs:

“Correction: August 14, 2017 An earlier version of this article misquoted part of President Trump’s statement on the violence in Charlottesville, Va. He blamed ‘many sides,’ not ‘all sides,’ for the violence that left one woman dead.”

The following day, Maggie Haberman and Michael Shear misquoted the president when he spoke about the movement to remove Confederate statues in their piece covering his press conference:

“Correction: August 15, 2017 An earlier version of this report incorrectly quoted President Trump’s words about taking down statues of historical leaders. His correct quote is: ‘So this week, it is Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson is coming down. I wonder, is it George Washington next week? And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? You know, you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop?’”

Another reporter claimed President Trump laid the blame for the violence that occurred on the “alt-left” just a few days later.

“Correction: August 18, 2017 The Common Sense column on Thursday, about the calculus of chief executives in deciding whether to take on the president, referred incompletely to President Trump’s comments on Tuesday about the instigators of last weekend’s violence in Charlottesville, Va. He said there was ‘blame on both sides,’ including club-wielding members of what he called the ‘alt-left’; he did not say that group was solely responsible.”

And as if that wasn’t enough, 10 days after Trump made his first statements on Charlottesville, the NYT had to issue another correction about a misquote on the incident given at Trump Tower:

“Correction: August 22, 2017 An earlier version of this article misquoted President Trump. He said there were ‘very fine people on both sides’ of the deadly melee in Charlottesville, Va., not ‘the good people on both sides.'”

This is a clear demonstration of the lack of integrity that this news organization and many other left-wing outlets possess, destroying their credibility as objective sources of information.

In an age where the Internet captures just about any moment of significance, there’s no reason to misquote someone. Such carelessness shows an ideological agenda, and exposes their deep desire to see the president say something awful, or self-destruct.

We can only hope this exercise has prompted them toward factual reporting. We won’t hold our collective breath.

Trump Gets Key Win From 8th Circuit
"...2-1 ruling..."

The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday that a state has the right to defund Planned Parenthood.

The 2-1 ruling specifically provided that while plaintiff Medicaid recipients who brought the suit are entitled to care, they cannot dictate that care includes Planned Parenthood facilities.

“The plaintiffs are asserting a right — the absolute right to a particular provider of their choosing — that (the law) does not grant them,” Judge Steven Colloton wrote in the majority opinion.

Several states, including Arkansas, the defendant in the suit, voted to defund Planned Parenthood after the release of a series of undercover videos that allegedly showed executives from the top abortion provider in the country discussing the sale of aborted babies’ body parts.

In April, Congress voted and President Donald Trump signed into law legislation guaranteeing states the right to defund Planned Parenthood, overriding an Obama administration Department of Health and Human Services regulation that had gone into effect two days before Trump took office.

The regulation mandated that “states and localities could not withhold money from a provider for any reason other than an inability to provide family planning services,” The New York Times reported.

In a statement, Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson described the 8th Circuit Court’s ruling as “a substantial legal victory for the right of the state to determine whether Medicaid providers are acting in accordance with best practices, and affirms the prerogative of the state to make reasoned judgments on the Medicaid program.”

The 8th Circuit’s jurisdiction includes Arkansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, and North and South Dakota.

Planned Parenthood noted that it had won federal suits against other states that sought to defund the organization.

“To date, seven other states (Alabama, Arizona, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas) have sought to bar Planned Parenthood from Medicaid, and all have been blocked by federal courts,” Planned Parenthood said in a statement.

Louisiana has asked the 5th Circuit to rehear the case en banc, meaning all of the justices (rather than just three) would preside.

The differing rulings between the eighth and other circuit courts make it more likely the Supreme Court will take up the matter.

“This is not over,” said Planned Parenthood Federation of America chief medical officer Raegan McDonald-Mosley. “We will do everything in our power to protect our patients’ access to birth control, cancer screenings and other lifesaving care. Extreme politicians are trying to defund and shut down Planned Parenthood — and this is not what Americans want.”

Jerry Cox, the executive director of the Family Council, an Arkansas-based conservative group, told public radio station KUAR, “The videos aside, the question is should the state of Arkansas do business with an organization that aborts babies, when they don’t need to.”

Little Foxes

Image result for Little Foxes

The first Little Fox
had the name of "White Lie"
His motive seemed good
and his actions were sly.
He said many grapes
are too hard on the vine.
He left quite a few
so the grapes paid no mind.
He fooled them so well
that he tried it again.
The grapes didn't care
when his partner moved in.
The name of his partner
was "Falsely accuse".
The grapes closer by
felt condemned and confused.
The third Little Fox
called "Self righteous" did shout!
"We can't fool the good grapes!
They have not a doubt!"
They'll cling to the vine
till come harvest to reap.
Then folding their hands,
the good grapes fell asleep.
Then that Little Fox
named "Nobody Will Know"
called in all his partners
to finish the show.
Although all the good grapes
had passed every test
they let Little Foxes
devour the rest

Pelosi Confirms Plan to Treat Sanders Progressives as Second-Class

It’s been nearly one month since the general election, and the Democratic Party still refuses to learn anything from Hillary Clinton’s embarrassing loss to Donald Trump, and their failure to recoup majorities in both Houses of Congress. The Democratic Party leadership opted instead to preserve the status quo by electing Sen. Charles Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi to lead the party in Congress.

In a recent interview, House Minority Leader Pelosi confirmed that the Democratic Party doesn’t plan on enacting any reforms or making any changes beyond different marketing strategies. “I don’t think people want a new direction,” she said in a December 4 interview with CBS’ Face the Nation. “Our values unify us and our values are about supporting America’s working families.” She added, “we went up so high in 2006 and 2008. Let me just put that in perspective. When President Clinton was elected, the Republicans came in big in the next election. When President Bush was elected, we came in big in the subsequent election. When President Obama was elected President, the Republicans came up big in the next election.”

Pelosi and establishment Democrats would rather preserve their political power and privilege than sacrifice any of that for the growing Bernie Sanders-enthusiast, progressive wing of the party. Not only is Pelosi downplaying the drastic losses Democrats have suffered across the country, but her strategy as a leader is simply to expect Americans to begin voting for Democrats after a few years of a Trump presidency. This hubris is what brought the Democratic Party to this point in the first place; relying on fear-mongering in anticipation of Republicans losing the White House and majorities in congress is a self-destructive political maneuver.

Congressional Republicans joke to one another about keeping Pelosi in charge of Democrats in the House because of her ineptitude and resistance to making any changes, regardless of her dwindling number of Democratic Party colleagues in the House. “I’m rooting for Nancy!” House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy toldreporters on November 29. “She may have more support in our conference than her own conference.”

Democrats placed Sen. Bernie Sanders in charge of their outreach, but Pelosi’s comments and the resistance party leadership has displayed toward discussing any potential reforms suggests the only thing they plan on changing is their marketing strategy. They want to exploit Sanders’ popularity in the hopes that it boosts their own along with it. But if the primaries were any indication, Sanders supporters are unlikely to fall in line behind the Democratic Party if meaningful reforms aren’t implemented. Democrats cannot expect to start winning again while simultaneously continuing to treat progressives as second-class citizens. Scaring, shaming, scolding and blaming are political strategies that will only serve to create a greater rift among Democrats. But in the post-election, Democrats have continued using these tactics just as enthusiastically as before.

On December 3 in Michigan, progressive activists allege they were assaulted by Michigan Democratic Party members, including the officer-at-large, during a peaceful protest for change, at a meeting. “We were protesting the lack of transparency inside the Michigan Democratic Party—the way elections are rigged to benefit insiders and donors and how the public is kept in the dark,” wrote Sam Pernick, the chair of Young Democrats of Michigan, in a Facebook post. “We were also advocating for Keith Ellison for DNC Chair. At the meeting, candidates were being chosen to represent Michigan on the Democratic National Committee (DNC),” he said. “When we arrived, we learned that all the candidates had already been pre-selected (via backroom deals) and would only be given one minute to explain their qualifications. There was no opportunity for questions. It’s no surprise so many felt betrayed and abandoned by the Democratic Party last November given how the party treats those who disagree. Without significant change in the Democratic Party, we will continue to lose elections and will be known as the party of the donors and the elite.”
