The Democrats’ dinosaur problem

Much post-2012 attention has been focused on identifying weaknesses within the Republican Party, with armchair quarterbacks sounding alarms for a party that still controls one house of Congress, 30 governorships, and a majority of state legislatures across the country.

There are obvious issues that the party needs to address to win future national elections, but is the playing field really as uneven as the postgame analysis has made it out to be?  What about some of the looming woes soon to confront Democrats?

With Barack Obama in the White House, it’s easy for Democrats to wear the mantle of “change” and moving “forward,” buoyed by a re-elected president who toppled a giant to become his party’s nominee five years ago. But Barack Obama won’t be on the ballot in 2016.

Three names that might be pose a challenge to the “change” label: Clinton, Biden and Cuomo.

A once-ran for president, twice-ran for president, and son of the Democrat that never ran for president currently dominate 2016 speculation.

Half a decade after the 2008 primaries, it’s easy to buy into Hillary-mania being a force that will unite Democrats together in pursuit of retaining the White House.

Thing is, the last time she was a national candidate Clinton lost to a first-term senator in a brutal campaign that began with near-unanimous conventional wisdom that she would be the nominee. Who’s to say that history won’t repeat itself? The only major political scrutiny she’s endured since defeat at Obama’s hands came in the form of her testimony to the Senate regarding Benghazi, with the actual degree of scrutiny varying depending on who you talk to.

Vice-President, and noted smooth talker, Joe Biden theoretically makes a formidable candidate, but only because of the first two words in this sentence. Incumbency advantage aside, Candidate Biden would be a third-time candidate in his mid-seventies with decades’ worth of Senate votes for opponents to exploit.

The closest to a political newcomer is New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. He may be the scion of a powerful political family second only to the Kennedys in representing the entrenched East Coast Democratic establishment, but at least he’s never run for president.

Prior to 2012, Cuomo cultivated a center-left image, with a record tailor-made for a general election and bolstered by his stratospheric approval ratings in the Empire State.

Yet since early 2013, Cuomo’s rise to national prominence has been hamstrung by declining approval, negative headlines and a deer in the headlights response to the hoopla of Hillary Clinton’s departure from the secretary of State’s office.

So a perfectly realistic scenario has three baggage-ridden Democrats from equally baggage-ridden political dynasties duking it out in a primary in a few years time.

Add that to the fact that the candidates will be courting a party base that hasn’t faced ideological and personality-fueled infighting in eight years, and will need to appeal to a liberal primary electorate while gearing up to defend the Obama record without the appeal of Obama himself in the general election – likely to be no easy task as polling data shows that support for Obama’s agenda is inexorably linked to his personality.

In 2016, Democrats will be confronted with a relatability problem of their own: the most oft-mentioned candidates to assume the mantle of ”hope and change” are relics of a bygone era of liberal politics, and in most cases have already been rejected by the Democratic voting base.

Closing the White House as Mental Abuse

For the first time in my adult life, I am not proud of the First Lady.

Mrs. Obama is frequently compared to Marie Antoinette.  She spends hundreds of millions of dollars a year on her own pleasure and aggrandizement while urging the peasants to plant gardens.  And for the first time in American history, we have a president who insults us across the world, disavows the idea that American is special, enriches our enemies such as the Muslim Brotherhood, and degrades our achievements ("You didn't build that.").

Scalia's Judicial Activism

Justice Antonin Scalia on CNN, July 18, 2012

During an appearance at Southern Methodist University, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia declared that the Constitution of the United States is "dead, dead, dead". Which raises an interesting question. If the Constitution is "dead, dead, dead", does it mean it should be buried? We bury the dead because after a few days they start to stink, stink, stink.

Justice Scalia is renowned for being an "originalist'. More specifically, he uses "original meaning" to interpret the Constitution. "Original meaning" is different from "original intent". The latter interprets the Constitution based on what the framers intended to achieve. And that is not Scalia's judicial philosophy. During a sparring match with Justice Stephen Breyer, Scalia said:
"I don't care a fig for the framers. I care for the people who ratified the Constitution. I don't believe in original intent. I believe in original meaning. What was the meaning of the Constitution when the people ratified it.... what the people agreed to when they adopted the Constitution. What they agreed to when they adopted the Bill of Rights is what ought to govern us [Supreme Court]."
Whether or not the people who ratified the Constitution agreed to place a straight jacket on future generations is questionable. As Justice Breyer pointed out, the Preamble states "We the People" and not "We the People of 1787". Nevertheless, Scalia believes that the Constitution is static and the only way to change its meaning is through the amendment process.

Well... that is what Scalia says. What he does is not so static. Just look at the Heller decision.

It is quite clear from the historical record that the Second Amendment always had a military context. The Amendment was adopted to address concerns raised during ratification that standing armies during peacetime would endanger liberty. Moreover, the Constitution gave Congress the power to organize, arm and discipline the militia which could be used - the Anti-Federalists feared - to destroy state militias and threaten the freedom and security of each state. During the Virginia convention, George Mason articulated the concern shared by many. He said:
“The militia may be here destroyed by that method which has been practiced in other parts of the world before; that is, by rendering them useless—by disarming them. Under various pretences, Congress may neglect to provide for arming and disciplining the militia; and the state governments cannot do it, for Congress has the exclusive right to arm them.”
Most readers find the text of the Second Amendment ambiguous. If it is an individual right, why mention the militia? Why mention the security of  a "Free State"? Mason's statement clarifies all ambiguity. The Second Amendment was adopted to prevent the Federal government from disarming state militias. To preserve the states' power to arm and defend their freedom. It had nothing to do with civilian uses of weapons.

Any residual doubt about the military context of the Second Amendment should disappear with a reading of Madison's original draft of the Amendment. It included a provision that "but no person religiously scrupulous of bearing arms, shall be compelled to render military service in person." In order words, a conscientious objector clause. Would such provision even be considered if the Amendment was addressing civilian use of weapons? Doubtful.

Undeterred by history, Justice Antonin "Original Meaning" Scalia is determined to find an individual right even if it means engaging in judicial activism. He takes the Amendment and divides it into two separate clauses: prefatory and operative. The prefatory clause contains the text "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State". And, the operative clause contains the language "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

He then proceeds to marginalize the prefatory clause by stating that it only states one purpose for the Amendment and does not place any limits on the operative clause. Never mind that if it weren't for concerns over state militias being disarmed, there would be no Second Amendment. Never mind the little speech Scalia gave that justices ought to be governed by what  people agreed to when the Bill of Rights was adopted. All that is thrown out with an assertion that the militia language is just one purpose and not THE EXCLUSIVE purpose.

This is judicial activism at its best. The prefatory clause does not state that the Second Amendment's purpose is strictly militia related. Therefore, we can stretch the operative clause to include civilian use. And just like that a brand new individual right is created. Justice Scalia - who is still scratching his head over the right of privacy encompassing private sexual behavior between consenting adults and control over one's reproductive organs - has no problem at all finding an individual right to self defense in an amendment designed to prevent the disarming of state militias.

Scalia's judicial activism in the Heller decision is even more striking when one considers that he could have easily used the 9th Amendment to establish a constitutional right to self-defense and still kept his reputation as a conservative jurist intact. But Scalia's goal was to broaden the scope of the Second Amendment to mirror the conservative view that it is an individual right unconnected to the militia. And if that meant breathing new life into the Constitution, he was more than happy to oblige.

"SHIFTY" An Incredible American Hero

"Shifty" By Chuck Yeager

Shifty volunteered for the airborne in WWII and served with Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, part of the 101st Airborne Infantry. If you've seen Band of Brothers on HBO or the  History Channel, you know Shifty. His character appears in all 10 episodes, and Shifty himself is interviewed in several of them.

I met Shifty in the Philadelphia airport several years ago. I didn't  know who he was at the time. I just saw an elderly gentleman having trouble reading his ticket. I offered to help, assured him that he was at the right gate, and noticed the "Screaming Eagle," the symbol of the 101st Airborne, on his hat.

Making conversation, I asked him if he'd been in the 101st Airborne or if his son was serving. He said quietly that he had been in the 101st. I thanked him for his service, then asked him when he served, and how many jumps he made?

Quietly and humbly, he said "Well, I guess I signed up in 1941 or so, and was in until sometime in 1945 ..." at which point my heart skipped.

At that point, again, very humbly, he said "I made the 5 training jumps at Toccoa, and then jumped into Normandy . . . do you know where Normandy is?" At this point my heart stopped.  I told him "yes, I know exactly where Normandy is, and I know what D-Day was." At that point he said "I also made a second jump into Holland, into Arnhem." I was standing with a genuine war hero ... and then I realized that it was June, just after the anniversary of D-Day.

I asked Shifty if he was on his way back from France , and he said "Yes... And it 's real sad because, these days, so few of the guys are left, and those that are, lots of them can't make the trip." My heart was in my throat and I didn't know what to say.

I helped Shifty get onto the plane and then realized he was back in  coach while I was in First Class. I sent the flight attendant back to get him and said that I wanted to switch seats. When Shifty came forward, I got up out of the seat and told him I wanted him to have it, that I'd take his in coach.

He said "No, son, you enjoy that seat. Just knowing that there are still some who remember what we did and who still care is enough to make an old man very happy." His eyes were filling up as he said it.

And mine are brimming up now as I write this.  Shifty died on Jan. l7 after fighting cancer.

There was no parade.

No big event in Staples Center .

No wall-to-wall, back-to-back 24x7 news coverage.

No weeping fans on television.

And that's not right!

Let's give Shifty his own memorial service, online, in our own quiet way.

Please forward this to everyone you know.
Especially to the veterans.

Rest in peace, Shifty.

Chuck Yeager, Maj. General [ret.]

March Unemployment Madness

The Patriot Post ~
“The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government.” –Thomas Jefferson
Employers added 88,000 jobs in March, according to the latest unemployment report from the Labor Department. That’s down from the 196,000/month average over the last six months. Yet miraculously, the headline unemployment rate dropped from 7.7 percent to 7.6 percent. As with previous drops, however, that’s because a staggering 663,000 people simply left the workforce in March and gave up looking for a job. A record 90 million Americans are no longer even seeking employment.
Since the “surprise” drop in unemployment the month before Obama was narrowly re-elected last year, he has focused only on the unemployment number. However, given that his agenda is now to raise even more taxes and further expand government programs and regulations, Obama will insist that even though that number ticked down, it would have been substantially lower if not for the Republican Sequester. Most People Don’t Know Much About Second Amendment History

Posted by filed under History, Police State, Politics, Second Amendment

The first line to Sam Cookes’ song “Wonderful World” goes like this: “Don’t Know Much about history.” And that’s the way liberals want to keep most of the nation. History’s a great teacher, but too many of us found it boring. But it comes in handy when we’re trying to protect our freedoms.

Knowing some history about what our founders thought about what it means to “bear arms” can go a long way to shut the mouth of someone who does not know much about history.

In 1999, Texas U.S. District Judge, Sam Cummings ruled in a domestic abuse case that the Second Amendment guaranteed an individual the right to keep and bear arms.

There was naturally blowback from this decision. His detractors claimed he neglected to follow usual judicial practice. You see, his sin was not citing legal precedent to support his decision.

That one sentence clearly defines a major problem in this country, run by pinhead lawyers — so full of arrogance that they think themselves and their court decisions superior to the Constitution and the founders. By citing only court precedent instead of original intent one bad decision leads to another and so on.

Some legal pinheads might cite the Supreme Court case U.S. v Miller (1939) wherein the court ruled the Second Amendment’s “obvious purpose . . . was to assure the continuation and render possible the effectiveness of the state militia.” In the early 1980s, the Illinois Supreme Court as well as the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that there was no right for individuals to keep and bear arms in the Second Amendment.

I’m no constitutional scholar or great jurist with an army of researchers, but I can read.

So did the framers intend the Second Amendment to encompass an individual’s right to carry guns for self-protection? It turns out they, the founders, had plenty to say on the subject.

The first state Declaration of Rights to use the term “bear arms” was Pennsylvania in 1776: “that the people have a right to bear arms in defense of themselves and the state.” Pretty clear. No ambiguity there.

Noah Webster of dictionary fame was certainly in a position to know what the Second Amendment phrase “bear arms” meant. A prominent Federalist, he wrote the first major pamphlet in support of the Constitution when it was proposed in 1787, in which he stated:

“[B]efore a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed.”

Again, pretty straightforward, but one might expect that of a wordsmith.

In fact, in Webster’s famous dictionary, first published in 1828, “bear” is defined as “To wear; to bear as a mark of authority or distinction; as to bear a sword, a badge, a name; to bear arms in a coat.”

Continuing to the word “arms,” we find this definition: “weapons of offense, or armor for defense and protection of the body.” So according to Webster, “bear arms” is to carry or wear weapons openly or concealed. Further, Webster defines “pistol” as a “small firearm, or smallest firearm used… small pistols are carried in the pocket.”

I bet most Americans don’t know this much about gun history in America.

McDonald's Asking College Decree And 2 Years Experience For Cashier's Positions

With colleges producing more graduates, and youth unemployment at a sky-high 11.5 percent, even landing a job selling Big Macs is getting competitive.

Consider: A job opening at a Massachusetts McDonald's restaurant for a full-time cashier requires one to two years experience and a bachelor's degree.

"Get a weekly paycheck with a side order of food, folks and fun," offered McDonalds.

It is not clear if the fast-food restaurant really wants that kind of experience or is fishing for the highest-qualified applicants. The website for the Winchedon, Mass., McDonald's also lists jobs in Spanish.

Obama seeks reprise of Speaker Pelosi

Obama, who spent the night in the city by the bay, has another pair of fundraisers in the area on Thursday before heading back to Washington, D.C.
While Obama outlined an ambitious agenda for his second term -- including gun control, immigration, energy, and climate change -- he also cited the fact that Republicans control half of Congress, the House. The Democrats run the Senate.

Green Tyranny

John Stossel

Environmental activists and politicians would like you to think that we must love their regulations — or hate trees and animals.

I love trees and animals.

But you can love nature and still hate the tyranny that environmental regulations bring.

The Environmental Protection Agency just announced it will boost gas prices (“only” a penny, although industry says 6 to 9 cents) to make another minuscule improvement to air quality.

In New York City, my mayor wants to ban Styrofoam cups, saying, “I think it’s something we can do without.”

Congress already dictates the design of our cars, toilets and light bulbs.

Originally, environmental rules were a good thing. I love the free market, but it doesn’t offer a practical remedy to pollution. I could sue polluters for violating my property rights, but under our legal system, that’s not even close to practical.

So in the ’70s, government passed rules that demanded we stop polluting the air and water. Industry put scrubbers in smokestacks. Towns installed sewage treatment. Now the air is quite clean, and I can swim in the rivers around Manhattan.

Pedophilia Is A Sexual Orientation Under CA Bill

California Congresswoman, Rep. Jackie Speier CA (D), wants to federalize a state law to prohibit counseling to change a person’s sexual orientation. That doesn’t sound that extreme, but pedophilia is a sexual orientation according to this bill as well.

Under the bill’s language, a mental health counselor could be sanctioned if there was an attempt to get a pedophile or gay individual to change his behavior or speak negatively about their behavior as it relates to sexuality.

The bill calls on states to prohibit efforts to change a minor’s sexual orientation, even if the minor requests it, saying that doing so is “dangerous and harmful.”

The text of the legislation doesn’t specifically ban “gay” conversion therapy. Instead, it prohibits attempts to change a person’s sexual orientation.

“Sexual orientation change efforts’ means any practices by mental health providers that seek to change an individual’s sexual orientation,” the bill says.

Republicans attempted to add an amendment specifying that, “pedophilia is not covered as an orientation.” However, the Democrats defeated the amendment. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) stated that all alternative sexual lifestyles should be protected under the law, and accordingly decided that pedophilia is a sexual orientation that should be equally as embraced as homosexuality.

“This language is so broad and vague, it arguably could include all forms of sexual orientation, including pedophilia,” said Brad Dacus, president of the Pacific Justice Institute. “It’s not just the orientation that is protected—the conduct associated with the orientation is protected as well.”

Who Cares If Pedophilia Is A Sexual Orientation?

It also means that, if pedophilia is a sexual orientation, that discrimination laws also apply to pedophiles. That means you cannot block a pedophile from being a preschool teacher or any other high-risk occupation.

Recently, a United States District Court Judge, William Shubb, sided with Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) by granting their plaintiffs a preliminary injunction against the legislation, which is known as California SB 1172.

“Because the court finds that SB 1172 is subject to strict scrutiny and is unlikely to satisfy this standard, the court finds that plaintiffs are likely to succeed on the merits of their claims based on violations of their rights to freedom of speech under the First Amendment,” wrote Judge Shubb.

“This victory sends a clear signal to all those who feel they can stifle religious freedom, free speech, and the rights of parents without being contested,” said PJI President, Brad Dacus. “We at PJI are ready to fight this battle all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary.

“This will be a long, grueling battle with tremendous consequences for generations to come. We are grateful to those who are willing to support us in this critical time to preserve our freedoms and protect our children,” he continued.

Thankfully, for the time being, this legislation has been blocked, but many questions still remain.

This bill establishes a dangerous precedent for normalizing the behavior of pedophiles while stripping parents of their rights and peace of mind.

One can certainly make the argument that homosexuals are “born that way,” and we generally would not dispute that. However, when we have legislators that want to extend the “born that way” defense to pedophiles, this crosses a very dangerous line.

Whether a pedophile is born that way or not, it still does not make their behavior acceptable in any way.

If so, then you could declare rapists are “born that way.” They can’t help that they need to rape! Poor them!

Let’s be real.

Sex between an adult and a child too young to understand what is going on is not the same thing as sex between two consenting adults.

The operative word here is “consenting.” Children—by both law and basic common sense—cannot “consent.” If Jackie Spier had a son or daughter, and an adult “had consensual sex” with him or her, we do not believe that what she would be so adamant about protecting them.

What liberals conveniently ignore is the fact that all societies who participated in pedophilia—such as the Hittites, Canaanites, Greeks, and Romans—eventually caved in on themselves due to corruption and depravity.

Further, let’s not also forget that their favorite form of entertainment was watching people get torn to shreds by lions, hacked to death, and burned alive.

Recognizing sexual ‘orientation’ is walking a razor’s edge. Unlike gay-oriented legislation, pedophilia has victims who must be protected.

We don’t put pedophiles in prison to make them stop being pedophiles; we put them there because they threaten the safety of the most vulnerable people in a society.

Are You Too Busy To Stand Up For The Republic?

While most Americans are absorbed in their own lives (whether it be trying to make sure they can provide for their families, having a hobby, or just plain watching TV), one thing stands clear. Our Republic is being stolen right out from under our noses. Some have realized this, but some are still asleep.

Allow me to simplify this if you will. What good will just sitting around watching baseball be when there isn’t any more of it because the UN using “sustainable development” (Agenda 21) has decided that the ball field must be returned to the wilderness of nature? Don’t believe me? Look up “sustainable development.” Or how about watching NASCAR, where the motto is “Go fast, Turn left”? Well, isn’t that what our communist/Muslim brotherhood plant Barack Hussein Obama is doing to the United States as we speak? Do your own research. Trust me, you won’t have to look far.

Or maybe you find yourself absorbed in watching MTV’s “Teen Mom” show. Well, I guess that is better than standing in front of an abortion clinic advocating for a mother’s rights while a Planned Parenthood doctor commits infanticide. Well, we must not forget about American Idol, where it would seem that half of America has made the Obamas theirs.

My point is this: unless we all become educated as to the things that our own government and the United Nations are trying to pull on us, we are facing a loss of freedom for not only us, but for our offspring for generations to come. How would you feel if your grandchild comes to you one day and asks you what Freedom and Liberty were like in America? Would you know how to answer them? Would you even try to answer them knowing that there were things that you could do NOW?

It’s time to wake up America: educate yourselves and take a stand for the generations to come. We are the last line of defense; and if we fail, there clearly is no turning back. As always, my fellow Patriots, stay safe and be aware of your surroundings.

The Truth Behind Homeschooling

I am probably not your typical homeschooler. When I first began 18 years ago I was way more structured and rigid. I even got my daughter a little school desk for her to sit in. (And apparently, according to my husband, I made her call me Mrs. Walden. Neither she nor I remember that, thank goodness!) The desk lasted all of about two days. Her little brother was about 20 months old at the time and into everything. Staying in one spot for any length of time was a chore.

Conservatism is far from dead

I thought it odd that the Republican National Committee would have labeled its analysis of the 2012 campaign loss an "autopsy." The GOP is far from dead and, more importantly, neither is conservatism as a political force in the life of the nation.

DR. CARSON WAS FRAMED

From Bill Donohue

Last week, Dr. Ben Carson defended marriage as it has been understood since time immemorial. He added, “It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality—it doesn’t matter what they are—they don’t get to change the definition.”

For this he has been vilified, even though he has made it clear that he wasn’t equating bestiality with homosexuality. But the attacks have not ceased.

Bill Donohue is the President and CEO of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, the nation’s largest Catholic civil rights organization. The publisher of the Catholic League journal, Catalyst, he served for two decades on the board of directors of the National Association of Scholars, and continues to guest lecture every year at New York University’s Fulbright program for Ph.D’s from around the world.

He is the winner of several teaching awards, and many awards from the Catholic community, Bill has appeared on thousands of television and radio shows speaking on civil liberties and social issues.

THE LAWSUIT THAT MIGHT KILL OBAMACARE

John Hayward

ObamaCare has been challenged on various legal grounds, but one of its most serious legal threats builds upon the very same Supreme Court decision that held it constitutional.  The Washington Times reports on a suit from the Pacific Legal Foundation that has been making its way quietly through the court system:

A challenge filed by the Pacific Legal Foundation contends that the Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional because the bill originated in the Senate, not the House. Under the Origination Clause of the Constitution, all bills raising revenue must begin in the House.
The Supreme Court upheld most provisions of the act in June, but Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. took pains in the majority opinion to define Obamacare as a federal tax, not a mandate. That was when the Sacramento, Calif.-based foundation’s attorneys had their “aha” moment.
“The court there quite explicitly says, ‘This is not a law passed under the Commerce Clause; this is just a tax,’” foundation attorney Timothy Sandefur said at a Cato Institute forum on legal challenges to the health care act. “Well, then the Origination Clause ought to apply. The courts should not be out there carving in new exceptions to the Origination Clause.”

Is National Poetry Month an oxymoron?

April 1st marks the beginning of National Poetry Month and I want you to restrain yourself from dashing around trying to find a single book or anthology of poetry where you call home. If you do have one, it likely is something you brought home from college or an older relative gave you as a birthday gift. Poetry does not line our bookshelves and plays virtually no role in our lives these days unless you are older and developed a liking for it in your youth.

Hannity Guest EXPLODES.

Rips Out Earpiece... Black Conservatives Have No Freedom Of Speech?

Sean Hannity's Monday night show got heated... to say the least. Inviting on radio host Leo Terrell and Niger Innis, national spokesperson for the Congress of Racial Equality, the Fox News host sought to debate the media treatment of Dr. Ben Carson, who's become a conservative hero of sorts since spoke "truth to power" at the National Prayer Breakfast. The panel quickly descended into chaotic shout-fest, however, with Terrell eventually ripping out his earpiece in frustration.

Since the prayer breakfast and the following remarks about gay marriage, Carson has been "vilified by the left," Hannity asserted. Beyond those details, the bigger issue, he asserted, is that "if you're African-American and you're a conservative, you are vilified. You are demonized, you are called names, you are attacked. That is the ongoing epidemic that goes on. There's no freedom of speech for African-American conservatives in America."

"You created a monster!" Terrell told Hannity, wasting no time in getting loud. "You have elevated this guy to 15 minutes of fame."

The pair shouted over each other until eventually Innis jumped in, serving as the segment's Calm And Conservative contrast. Deeming Carson a "hero" and credit to the human race, Innis argued we need more Ben Carsons in the political arena.

Later in the segment, when Innis went on to comment on the "litany of horrors" we've seen from left-wing speakers, Terrell charged him with being an "apologist" for Fox News and Hannity. To that charge, Innis countered saying he would be more than happy to appear on other networks but there's "censorship" prevents that.

As Hannity attempted to bring in the Obamas' Easter sermon controversy into the discussion, Terrell refused, saying he wanted to stay on the topic of Carson. Eventually, at the end of the segment, Terrell took out his earpiece, giving up altogether.

So, it’s not really Easter Day then Mr. Obama?

Lovely, President Obama on March 29, 2013 issues a new Presidential Proclamation. Is it about Easter and the millions of Christians that observe and honor their God and the traditions that founded this country? Did he recognize Easter at all for that matter? No, Obama issues a PRESIDENTIAL proclamation proclaiming March 31st… wait for it… Cesar Chavez Day! No I am NOT kidding. Cesar Chavez Day!

Texas demands its physical gold reserves be returned by the Fed

The seizure of privately held savings accounts by the government of Cyprus, in order to finance a European Union-led bailout, is having reverberations far beyond the shores of that bankrupt nation. In fact, they are being felt as far away as Texas, where lawmakers there are increasingly concerned that greedy secular progressives in Washington, D.C., might someday consider a similar tactic, in order to bail out a federal government which is quickly spending itself into oblivion.

2nd Amendment Freedom (Discussion)

TO: RED NATION

Time to speak up 2nd Amendment Voters. It is rumored that Senators Grassley (R) of Iowa, and Mitch McConnell, (R) Kentucky, Minority Leader are speaking with Democrats about passing some sort of gun bill. Unconfirmed reports say, these elders of the Senate are inclined to avoid the filibuster proposed by conservatives. I have written both of them and my state
also, you may use my story or frame your own. This is how Washington works, if we allow it. Please check it out and help the filibuster trend again.

MY Story:
I have noticed how we are spinning what is GUN CONTROL into other less alarming, but misleading phrases. Gun Ownership is not an issue. Gun Ownership is listed among our God Given rights. Gun Safety is not the legislation being sought. Are we encouraging manufacturers to voluntarily take measures like creating finger print locks? That is safety. No. The Senate is considering GUN CONTROL. They seek to tamper with the 2nd amendment. Patrick Henry, my neighbor of years gone by, says the the 2nd amendment is confirmed by the 3rd amendment. There should be no mistaking its meaning, when its companion the 3rd is read. Further, he tells us the 2nd Amendment is the jewel of the Bill of Rights. The only right that ensures enforcement of the others. He clearly says be greatly suspicious of those, who would tamper with the 2nd amendment.

I have decided I have had enough of the progressive menu. For the first time in thirty-five votes in Virginia's annual elections, I will be an one issue voter. I never thought I would see this day. My great-great grandfather was among the founders of the Republican Party, a member of the delegation to recruit Lincoln. A Prussian dissident, who fled the Emperor with wife and children, racing to the French border only miles ahead of the Emperor's militia. He arrived here with gold for a start and became influential in Wisconsin. Our family has remained absolutely loyal to his party and the freedoms he sought in America.

He had no taste for Washington's meddling. We are certain he would never limit in any way his guns. He disdained centralized power. We know his story. We understand a political refugee's view of this Union. One of his son's died at Libby prison fighting for Lincoln at Gettysburg. He had misgivings about the Civil War and states rights. He wished the question of slavery had a peaceful solution. But, he had recruited Lincoln. The 48ers (their moniker) made the decision to send 100,000 Prussians soldiers and officers to back up their guy. These Germans were tired of war.  This little known fact is likely a turning point in the outcome of the war. That being said, we will follow his legacy in principle. We will vote in his honor and not necessarily for his party.

If he were alive, he would favor the protection of the individual and the local government. Rulers in a far off place limiting his way of life would be suspect. In this debate, he might be a confederate. But, the question of the Union is settled law. So he would have to choose his personal war, not his battles. Since the 2nd amendment is the jewel of the Bill of Rights, the choice is clear. His large contingency in Virginia today watches only the 2nd amendment. Whichever person would infringe upon it, we will oppose. We will fund, volunteer and write editorials against those, who offend the principles of the founders. No party will be exempt.

It is reported that Senator Reid asks for your vote and you currently decline. I hope you maintain this position. Supporting our lifestyle, the people you represent, is a sacred pact. We will tolerate some tinkering here and there. We are not bothered by responsible social efforts. Even, if we don't agree with the inefficiencies. In these matters our goal is the same. We differ in method. Ravaging the Bill of Rights is a different story. You cannot expect for Virginia, the heart of 1776 and home of most famous founders, to follow you. Neither should any party cross this line, we now draw. God Bless America, jwa

Federal Employees Being Paid Millions To Do Nothing

If I did nothing, I would lose my job. I’m sure the same goes for most people in the private sector. That’s the whole idea behind employment. Someone needs a job done, you do the job requested and you get compensated for your work. I suppose if I did find myself without a job, I could always find a position in the federal government. They don’t usually fire people for not working, as Senator Tom Coburn is finding out.

Fallon Clucks the Lumineers

Is this Jimmy Fallon's finest vocal impression yet?

The Lumineers spent 3 years perfecting their signature song “Ho Hey,” which has since become a Top 40 hit. For Easter, Jimmy Fallon, Blake Shelton, and Nick Offerman clucked it.

Fallon is known for his stunning vocal impressions, but I think we can all agree this may be his most stunning impression yet.

Democrats, Socialists, Communists, Marxists – All the Same

How can we even consider making a huge statement such as the title suggests in the most politically correct time in the history of what may be the last of the free United States? Actually it becomes a very simple task when anyone without a journalism background can find this truth just by doing a little digging into the Internet. In today’s world we can become journalist by just doing some very basic research. Now if we can come up with what we are about to show, why is it that none of those so-called reporters out in the mostly lame stream media cannot find even more damaging documents and words? The answer to that is very simple; most of the media today is bought and paid for by the Socialist/Communist/Marxist groups out there!

U.S. government plans to scan your private emails using cybersecurity program as a cover

As mainstream political and media figures head-fake the country with near wall-to-wall coverage of whether men and women should be allowed to marry each other, the U.S. government is planning to snoop through more and more of your private email, using the "threat of cyber terrorism" as its excuse.

A 2011 Congressional Research Paper on Presidential Qualifications?

The Constitution sets out three eligibility requirements to be President: one must be 35 years of age, a resident "within the United States" for 14 years, and a "natural born Citizen." There is no Supreme Court case which has ruled specifically on the presidential eligibility requirements (although several cases have addressed the term "natural born" citizen), and this clause has been the subject of several
