From Bill Donohue
Last week, Dr. Ben Carson defended
marriage as it has been understood since time immemorial. He added,
“It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be
they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality—it
doesn’t matter what they are—they don’t get to change the definition.”
For this he has been vilified, even though he has made it clear that he
wasn’t equating bestiality with homosexuality. But the attacks have not
ceased.
Bill Donohue is the President and CEO of the Catholic League for Religious and
Civil Rights, the nation’s largest Catholic civil rights organization.
The publisher of the Catholic League journal, Catalyst, he
served for two decades on the board of directors of the National
Association of Scholars, and continues to guest lecture every year at
New York University’s Fulbright program for Ph.D’s from around the
world.
He is the winner of several teaching awards, and many awards from the Catholic
community, Bill has appeared on thousands of television and radio shows
speaking on civil liberties and social issues.
