2nd Amendment Freedom (Discussion)

TO: RED NATION

Time to speak up 2nd Amendment Voters. It is rumored that Senators Grassley (R) of Iowa, and Mitch McConnell, (R) Kentucky, Minority Leader are speaking with Democrats about passing some sort of gun bill. Unconfirmed reports say, these elders of the Senate are inclined to avoid the filibuster proposed by conservatives. I have written both of them and my state
also, you may use my story or frame your own. This is how Washington works, if we allow it. Please check it out and help the filibuster trend again.

MY Story:
I have noticed how we are spinning what is GUN CONTROL into other less alarming, but misleading phrases. Gun Ownership is not an issue. Gun Ownership is listed among our God Given rights. Gun Safety is not the legislation being sought. Are we encouraging manufacturers to voluntarily take measures like creating finger print locks? That is safety. No. The Senate is considering GUN CONTROL. They seek to tamper with the 2nd amendment. Patrick Henry, my neighbor of years gone by, says the the 2nd amendment is confirmed by the 3rd amendment. There should be no mistaking its meaning, when its companion the 3rd is read. Further, he tells us the 2nd Amendment is the jewel of the Bill of Rights. The only right that ensures enforcement of the others. He clearly says be greatly suspicious of those, who would tamper with the 2nd amendment.

I have decided I have had enough of the progressive menu. For the first time in thirty-five votes in Virginia's annual elections, I will be an one issue voter. I never thought I would see this day. My great-great grandfather was among the founders of the Republican Party, a member of the delegation to recruit Lincoln. A Prussian dissident, who fled the Emperor with wife and children, racing to the French border only miles ahead of the Emperor's militia. He arrived here with gold for a start and became influential in Wisconsin. Our family has remained absolutely loyal to his party and the freedoms he sought in America.

He had no taste for Washington's meddling. We are certain he would never limit in any way his guns. He disdained centralized power. We know his story. We understand a political refugee's view of this Union. One of his son's died at Libby prison fighting for Lincoln at Gettysburg. He had misgivings about the Civil War and states rights. He wished the question of slavery had a peaceful solution. But, he had recruited Lincoln. The 48ers (their moniker) made the decision to send 100,000 Prussians soldiers and officers to back up their guy. These Germans were tired of war.  This little known fact is likely a turning point in the outcome of the war. That being said, we will follow his legacy in principle. We will vote in his honor and not necessarily for his party.

If he were alive, he would favor the protection of the individual and the local government. Rulers in a far off place limiting his way of life would be suspect. In this debate, he might be a confederate. But, the question of the Union is settled law. So he would have to choose his personal war, not his battles. Since the 2nd amendment is the jewel of the Bill of Rights, the choice is clear. His large contingency in Virginia today watches only the 2nd amendment. Whichever person would infringe upon it, we will oppose. We will fund, volunteer and write editorials against those, who offend the principles of the founders. No party will be exempt.

It is reported that Senator Reid asks for your vote and you currently decline. I hope you maintain this position. Supporting our lifestyle, the people you represent, is a sacred pact. We will tolerate some tinkering here and there. We are not bothered by responsible social efforts. Even, if we don't agree with the inefficiencies. In these matters our goal is the same. We differ in method. Ravaging the Bill of Rights is a different story. You cannot expect for Virginia, the heart of 1776 and home of most famous founders, to follow you. Neither should any party cross this line, we now draw. God Bless America, jwa
