Last week, the CHOICE Act passed the House of Representatives with 233 Republican ‘yea’ votes. This victory for conservatives is a major win against the Obama-era regulatory regime that has strangled the American economy.
It’s important to take a moment and see how we got here:
The CHOICE Act began as an idea from the Heritage Foundation to rescue the American people from President Obama’s Dodd-Frank legislation. Heritage experts made the case against the law, and then worked with Congressman Jeb Hensarling and the Financial Services committee to fine tune those ideas into what ultimately became known as the CHOICE Act. Then it was the hard work of Heritage Action Sentinels who mobilized and pushed it forward in the House.
Last week’s vote was the culmination of years of work between the Heritage Foundation, Heritage Action, conservative activists, and staunch conservatives in Congress. So much so that President Trump praised Congressman Hensarling for his leadership in dismantling Dodd-Frank and freeing the American economy once more.
Thank you for your help in pushing this important legislation forward. Conservative victories seem like rare things in Washington, but thanks to your tireless work the CHOICE Act has passed the House of Representatives and is moving on to the Senate.
Now it’s up to Senate Majority Leader McConnell and the Senate to push the CHOICE Act across the finish line. Onto the Senate!
