The Bucks County Christian Coalition supports the State
of Israel and its right to defend itself against its enemies.
We support and stand with Israel because it is the
only democracy in the Middle East.
People of all faiths worship freely and have rights and freedoms to live
their lives as they choose.
The United Nations declared Israel a State in
1948. Since then, Israel has fought wars
in 1948, 1967 and 1973 with neighboring countries to maintain its freedom.
Hamas has fired thousands of rockets from Gaza since
2005 aimed at Israeli populations. No
nation would have tolerated these acts of war and would have responded with
like force.
Hamas has accepted millions in humanitarian aid to
build hospitals and schools and instead used it to build terror tunnels, bombs,
and rockets to kill and destroy Israel and her people.
Israeli Defense Forces went to great lengths to
notify Gazans to evacuate buildings that Hamas was using to fire upon Israeli
cities. In contrast, Hamas forced the civilians,
including children, to be used as human shields in these locations.
Recently, the IDF discovered a Hamas “Urban Warfare”
manual. The manual exploits the IDF’s commitment
to minimize harm to civilians. The IDF stated,
“The manual reveals that Hamas’ callous use of the Gazan population was
intentional and preplanned.”
Hamas’ goal has never been peace with Israel, but
its destruction. The Hamas Charter
states, “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will
obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it”.
The Bucks County Christian Coalition, a dialogue between Bucks County Christians and AJC, has been meeting since 1993, promoting democracy and respect of civil rights for all people. These goals have rarely been more important than they are at the present moment. Even as democracy spreads to countries that have never had it before, a backlash of fundamentalism and extremism makes its presence felt in almost every nation on the globe, and is tolerated by many who do not realize its power or the ideology that feeds it. The Bucks County Christian Coalition engages in dialogue to advocate respect for differences and religious freedom.
AJC's mission is to enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel, and to advance human rights and democratic values in the United States and around the world.
