Happy 4th Of July

By Melissa Dawn Gibson

This is my weekly blog..Happy 4th..in a couple days..lol

The Fourth of July.. Just as most of we Americans, I always think of fireworks, cookouts, just fun..
It is a special day in our family as well because my daughter was born in 1987 on this day, and last year my only grandson was born…we celebrate!!!

But, this year, my thoughts and feelings have changed dramatically. My thoughts will be with our forefathers in the original 13 colonies……
The dedication to “stand our ground”. The dedication to free our new country from the tyranny rule of big government..

The meaning and feeling of patriotism when I hear “The Star Spangled Banner”

We are under that same tyranny today, but within our own government that has evolved into a state of confusion and despair.

We need to stop the apathy in our country before we are in another, more dangerous revolution.
It is time for us to stop and look at where we have been, where we are going. There is much grumbling in the background, but not much action.

I am hoping that this year, this day of celebration will vibrate truly in the spirit that it was founded.
My hope is that anyone reading this will reflect on this great day, and make it more. Make it your purpose as one person, to protect our flag…the greatest flag in the world. The greatest freedom in the world.

We need every American to give tribute to our forefathers by protecting what was fought for so gallantly.

Let Today…the 4th of July, be the beginning and renewing of our great country….

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
