True (a Sonnet)

When God says something He will back it up;

He always has and surely always will.

God's not a man who lies into his cup;

A promise made is one He will fulfill.

Our Heav'nly Father only speaks the truth;

His prophesies accomplished one by one.

The scriptures all attest to God's bold sooth;

In faithfulness unchanged, what's said is done.

God's holy Grace saves all who do believe

In Christ His Son in whom He is well pleased.

It is a promise God will not reprieve;

Christ's bloody sacrifice for us appeased.

            Our Father's Word is steadfast, always true;

            Without a doubt just know that God loves you.
