President of Florida tea party group killed in car crash

Please keep his family in your prayers. Our hearts and sympathies go out to his family and friends. WE are grateful for his sacrifice in serving his country in the Vietnam war and as a tea party patriot!

The president of a Florida tea party group died in a car accident in Marion County, Fla., on Friday.
Stephen Hunter, 70, was attempting to make a left turn on U.S. 441 and was struck by an oncoming pickup truck, The Associated Press reported.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr. Hunter was head of the Ocala Tea Party for the past several years. He served in the Vietnam War and later worked at the defense contractor Lockheed Martin, the report said.

“Steve was an unwavering champion of freedom in Florida, whose warm and endearing personality overcame any petty political differences. He was a respected colleague and dear friend to all who knew him. I will miss him,” Adrian Wyllie, the Libertarian candidate for Florida governor told The Global Dispatch.

“I have known Steve for years and we worked very closely on many projects together in the defense of our nation.   He will be sorely missed, not only by me, but by all Americans…” Ross added in the announcement.

There will be a viewing Tuesday with the burial on Wednesday. For more information contact the Country Side Funeral Home in Anthony, Florida. HERE
