CONVERSATIONS WITH A CONSTITUTIONALIST COWARD

I wonder if many people who call themselves Libertarians, and now this "Constitutionalism" really do believe in Liberty. I contributed what I thought would be a rational post for I know Travis Augustine and always thought he was a reasonable man. This post can be found on Nathan Dagget's thread a diagram showing conservatism, liberalism, statism, Libertarianism as four points on a compass. It was a very interesting diagram I enjoyed it.  I admired how Travis always spoke out on the second amendment. I supported him in this endeavor. I support the Constitution, however, I do not think radically that it is shredded but  amended, bent, bypassed throughout the  226 years you betcha. Yet for the life of me I have a difficult time understanding "Liberty for all" it appears in a Constitutionalist mind for some only . The big problem I see is that while calling everyone a statist who does not agree with Travis's stance on abortion he reveals his own statism. Whether you hate Roe vs. Wade or pro life, pro choice  the very fact that while we are on the internet people should behave rationally on what they think. Instead I find that ad hominem attacks are used by many on the right as well as the left. I was shocked at this father who has children. He has not lived a full life, life has a way of shaping us through not just our education, adverse experiences , untoward events that often lead to a broader understanding and enlightenment.  A one track mind will eventually lead to disaster. I do not mind his staunch stand on abortion not in the least. I admire it. However, I initially used it to frame a debate on statism. He declares that as a libertarian that he followed the Constitution only. I suggested that was not true. Because the law of the land is Roe v Wade. Until that law each state regulated abortion as they saw fit. Some permitted it some did not. Therefore he was a statist not me.

What I do abhor is a man  calling me a murderer. Because of their views on abortion. Because of many people that I met on Friends of Liberty I have re examined my own thoughts on the cut off point. I never believed in partial or live abortions I have fought hard over Dr. Gosnell Clinic and I have written "One spine at a time" this should make anyone with intelligence understand my views on later term abortion. The recent decision on abortion in Texas made me think that 20 weeks is too late. After reading the OBSTETRICIANS Ethical I deduce that since in 1973 we did not have this information many abortions were done too late. What I did learn is that myths are created by BIO-ETHICIST  calling themselves scientist. Pre-implantation doctors state when a zygote is formed is a human being. It waits frozen to be implanted into a womb. Is it human yes it is! But it is not a person nor will it be a person until implanted. Thus in my opinion at 12 to 18 weeks it still does not have a neo-cortex. I have miscarried many times and I know what two and half months looks like. We did not nor was it ever suggested by the Church   to give the liver looking early prenatal  a funeral, baptism, because it was not a baby. No one would think that today 40 years later. I find this whole discussion about when it is a human being ridiculous of course it is human. Left to develop it would be a full human baby. Aborted it would cease it growth to personhood.

I do not expect anyone to agree with me. I have fought hard for humanity, blacks, whites, women's equal pay, and the right to their own body. I still will fight for the right to speak freely on this subject, I am not a hypocrite.

When does liberty trample on others freedom of speech? I was muted and told "May God have Mercy on Your soul".That is his right. What I discovered in this one sided debate with Travis was he never gave me an example of the constitution being shredded as he believes rather he became God. He wash his hands of people like me. People like me there are thousands of Republican women who do not agree with the party's hard line on abortion. He declared I do not follow God's law. Really? I quoted him Matthew where Jesus warns about judging others the same shall be meted out to you. Only God knows my heart, only God can judge me not man. What I see here is very disturbing radicals on the left and radicals on the right.
Freedom for the elitist "Constitutionalists" and "Liberals" but what about the rest of us?. I will never judge anyone for their political beliefs nor call them a "murderer" what I see is a death sentence casually flung by the radicals on the right at any woman who dares to speak out. Our party will destroy itself with people in it that cannot tolerate another's belief. They are responsible for women flocking to the liberals. I prefer to fight them with facts not fiction. I prefer to fight with debates not accusations of sending anyone to Hell. That is God's job. He is very good at what he does. My faith is stronger this morning after much prayer, speaking with my Atheist husband who tells me God knows my heart. This is love for 32 years; we manage to accept each other for our differences. He even offered to go to church with me. I smile if people could love like we have and understand that compromise is important not hatred we would have a better world.  Yes, I am tolerant of gays, abortion, and many other topics that controversial. My cup runneth over. May God Bless Travis Augustine, his family, and enlighten him to where he causes pain to others.
