Economic Freedom Is in Decline!
Dear
Friends,
President
Obama wants you to believe that his Big Government agenda is right for America.
But you and I know better. There’s only way prosperity will return to
America and that’s by restoring Economic Freedom!
On Tuesday, February 12, President Obama will deliver
his State of the Union address. While the president will no doubt use this
speech to continue to push his failing Big Government agenda, our sister
organization, AFP Foundation will take the opportunity to promote our cause of
Economic Freedom with a special Town Hall event in Parsippany!
Richard,
under President Obama, America has witnessed a stunning decline in Economic
Freedom. In just a few short years, America has sunk to just the
tenth most economically free country in the world. As The Heritage
Foundation’s Index of Economic Freedom indicates, America has fallen from the
category of “free” nations to category of just “mostly free”.
Well,
America should never be considered just “mostly free”. In order to lead America
back to prosperity and its rightful place at the top of the list of economically
free nations, you and I must lead the way in educating our fellow citizens about
the superiority of our limited government, free-market vision. That’s why it’s
so critical for citizen activists like you to attend this important
event!
Here’s
a snapshot of the agenda on tap for AFP Foundation’s State of the Union Town
Hall!
Is The
GOP establishment enabling President Obama’s economic policy
agenda?
A panel
of NJ legislators will be on hand to tackle this pressing, and perhaps
controversial, question of the day!
Economic
Policy Panel Discussion: Nicole
Kaeding, AFP Foundation’s State Policy Manager, will lead a dynamic
panel discussion on fiscal policy, monetary policy, the debt, and
more!
Of
course, while the president is giving his speech you and I will take it in and,
at the same time, use Twitter and social media to promote Economic
Freedom!
Richard,
the State of the Union Town Hall is yet another can’t-miss event! You and I know
that central planning, bureaucratic control and redistribution of wealth never
work and will fail to meet the challenges American faces. These policies will
never lead to a growing, prosperous economy and will never help the nation
tackle its $16 TRILLION debt crisis. In fact, these policies
will only make things worse.
So,
let’s advance the cause of Economic Freedom together!

Hit a
Nerve! Update on Trenton’s Union PLA Giveaway Bill!
Big
Labor special interests love PLAs and prevailing wage laws. The reason is
simple: these laws tilt the playing field in their favor and shut out many
skilled non-union workers from obtaining contracts on government-funded
projects. This lack of competition is what inflates the costs of so many of
these projects at a significant expense to you and me, the taxpayer. Put another
way, PLAs and prevailing wage pit the 16.1% of New Jersey’s
workforce who are members of unions against the 83.9% who are
non-union.
Last
Thursday, our own communications director Mike Proto and field director Laquan
Austion headed down to Trenton to testify before the Assembly Budget Committee
against the PLA union giveaway bill. But it wasn’t their testimony on this
specific bill that drew the ire of the pro-Big Labor forces in the room. When
Mike challenged the entire concept of prevailing wage and PLAs at the very end
of his testimony, that’s what really hit a nerve!
Despite
AFP’s opposition, the Assembly Budget Committee passed the bill by a vote of 8-4
along party lines. The PLA union giveaway bill (S2425/A3679)
will now head to the full Assembly for a vote.
Take
action on this bad bill now>>>Click
here to send a message to your representatives in the Assembly and tell them NO
to expanding the reach of project labor agreements!
On To
Victory,
Steve
