There are some talking heads claiming that now that Obama doesn’t face re-election he can pull more to the middle and work with a divided congress because he doesn’t have to appease his far-left base.
I say that’s fool talk.
I say because Obama isn’t facing another re-election he doesn’t have to moderate his actions to gain the moderate vote. Obama’s comfort zone, his vision for America, is far-left. And it is from that position that he will rule.
What should be your game plan?
Personal Finances
First, get your own house in order. We must accept the fact that the economy will NOT improve. Gas will never come down again to reasonable levels and in all likelihood will continue to rise. Heating oil and propane costs will rise. Ditto for food and durable goods. The value of the dollar will continue to slide. Banks will be even tighter with loans.
Most Americans will see less take-home pay starting in the New Year when Obamacare fully kicks in. If the lame duck congress does not re-institute the tax cuts, even more money will be taken out of your check. If you are on Medicare, know that your premiums will rise next year and there will not be a funny-money influx of cash stolen from another part of the federal budget to off-set it as there was this year. (Another election-year ruse, this time perpetrated on Medicare recipients). Prepare your household budget accordingly.
Medical Needs
If you have been putting off procedures or tests schedule them NOW. The landscape of medical care in this country is changing. If you’ve been putting it off, the government will consider putting off your non-emergency care indefinitely. And expect a shortage of doctors very soon as professionals flee the profession instead of working within the confines of government.
Medical providers have been populating their databases with your medical information, according to Obamacare directives, for the past few years. Understand that every time you visit the doctor, get a perscription filled or have a procedure it’s listed on a big, fat government database that can be shared within the government structure—and perhaps beyond—who knows?
Personally, I see a day where a black market medical community springs forth.
Privacy
There is very little of this cherished concept left anymore. Unless you’ve been playing survivor in the woods for your entire life (in which case, you cannot be reading this) then you are on the grid. Just be aware of it and take whatever steps you can to limit your exposure. My personal choices include not participating in social media like FaceBook and using an Avatar to cavort on the web. How much protection does this afford my personal life? Probably not as much as I like to think. But the exposure of my personal comings and goings, my friends, and my preferences are under the radar more than those who live their lives wide open.
Guns, Ammo & all that good stuff
If you don’t own a gun my advice is buy one now. If you can purchase one through a private transaction without a paper trail that’s even better. The Obama administration is very anti-gun. While a Republican controlled congress and a senate with many seats up for grabs in two years will most likely never pass any stringent gun control laws in the near future, do not discount this administration running an end-game through the UN or by executive order.
If you already own guns, stock up on ammo. It’s always good to have in case times get hard and the choice is between going hungry or killing a rabbit.
And keep in mind the very worst case scenario of gun confiscation. If you don’t think it can happen in America just ask any Australian if they ever thought it could happen there. It did and it can.
Now, go get it done! Once your house is in order we can talk about how to win back the hearts and minds of brain-washed Americans.
