No sign of government shutdown ending after White House meeting

President Obama and congressional leaders emerged from a White House meeting Wednesday evening with little sign of progress toward ending the government shutdown, a standstill both parties acknowledge could last weeks.

Following a 90-minute meeting, Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) told reporters Obama had "reiterated one more time tonight he will not negotiate."

 The Question = Which would you choose for your healthcare, Obamacare or the coverage 

available through the Affordable Care Act? Yesterday, Kimmel’s crew stopped people outside 

of his studio on Hollywood Boulevard and asked them to choose between Obamacare and the 

Affordable Care Act. One after another, almost every person confidently declared that they 

would prefer the Affordable Care Act over Obamacare. Many cited the same reasons that most 
people give when saying they don’t want Obamacare: “Socialism” “Don’t like being forced to 

buy something” “I just think there are a lot of holes in it. It needs to be revamped.” This pretty 

well sums up why Obama and the "D"s are holding the hard line on the Affordable Care Act and 

at the same time, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are holding the line on defunding Obamacare Both 

side have irrefutable survey and polling proof that the Affordable Care Act is good for America 

and Obamacare is bad for America - God help us !!!!

Ted Cruz is, technically speaking, “the freshman Senator from Texas.”

Mr. Cruz is a lot of things, but he’s hardly a freshman.  He single-handedly has given Harry Reid a case of the shingles and has John McCain and Lindsay Graham so upset one nearly had a stroke and the other went apoplectic, but he embodies the true mission of doing The People’s work and really doesn’t care if anyone likes him, and I love it.  Moreover, he is a reflection of the members of the earliest Congresses, wherein “rotation” was considered appropriate, meaning that one got elected for a term, stepped aside to let someone else run, and then could run again if so inclined, but the whole idea was to keep Washington fresh with ideas that represented the concerns of the country’s constituents.  And Senator Cruz is making them feel the pain because he has something so lacking in supply in DC:  ethics.
