Bombshell memo could finally end Robert Mueller’s investigation

A bombshell is set to be unleashed on Washington DC. And the greatest casualty will be the investigation of special counsel Robert Mueller and his effort to prove that President Donald Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia in the 2016 presidential election.

On Thursday Republican legislators set DC on fire when they announced that there was an “explosive” and “absolutely shocking” memo that exposed massive abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). The memo is said to be damaging enough to stop the Mueller “witch hunt” and could place former Obama administration officials on the hot seat instead.

Mueller Investigation Game Over.

Officials who read the memo told RealClear Politics’ Sara A. Carter that “they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.”

The same sources said that the memo could lead to top people at the Department of Justice and the FBI being removed from their jobs.

#Release The Memo.

Republican lawmakers are demanding that the memo be released for the public to see. Asked if the memo reveals an Obama administration attempt to derail the Trump campaign, Rep. Jim Jordan told Fox News that “I can’t talk about the specifics,” but “the American people need to see it.”

“The House must immediately make public the memo prepared by the Intelligence Committee regarding the FBI and the Department of Justice,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), said in a statement on his website. “The facts contained in this memo are jaw-dropping and demand full transparency.”

“I am shocked to read exactly what has taken place. I would think that it would never happen in a country that loves democracy and freedom,” Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., said on the floor of the House on Thursday. “It is time that we become transparent in all of this.”

The president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., took to Twitter to demand that the memo be made available to the public.

“Americans deserve to know the contents of the memo. Democrats & deep state govt officials are doing everything they can to protect those within the government who used their positions of influence to target those they disagree with politically. RELEASE THE MEMO!” he tweeted.

Some Republicans joined in calls for the memo release with the caveat that any potentially classified information be protected.

“Yesterday I called on the House Intelligence Committee to declassify the FISA memo & allow a vote to make it public after ensuring all info that could pose a national security risk is safeguarded. The American people should see the facts and judge for themselves. #releasethememo,” Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.) tweeted this morning.

Russia, Russia, Russia.

As predictable as snow in Alaska in January, Democrats ran to blame Russia for the #Release The Memo hashtag that took fire on Twitter this week.

Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff said on CNN Saturday, “Interestingly enough they (Republicans) have made common cause, once again, with Russian bots, because Russian bots are pushing their narrative out there in a redux of the campaign. We have Julian Assange and Wikileaks and Russian trolls and bots saying hashtag whatever the GOP narrative is.”

Nice attempt, Rep. Schiff, but you cannot use Russia as an excuse for everything.
