The Department of Justice (DOJ) is taking a fresh look at Hillary Clinton’s use of a private, non-secure email server during her time as secretary of state.

This comes after Judicial Watch, an independent government watchdog group, discovered at least 18 Clinton emails containing classified information.
Focus of investigation
The Daily Beast initially reported the DOJ’s intention to relaunch its probe.
What quantity of classified information passed through Clinton’s private server?
Who transferred that information into an unclassified area, and how?
Which investigators knew about the issues and when?
What, if any, immunity agreements Clinton aides struck?
Many of these issues were raised earlier this week by former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker, who said that “nothing about the [initial FBI] investigation was right.”
Bad week for Clinton
Nearly every day in 2018’s opening week brought more devastating news to the former secretary of state.
It began with the significant irregularities discovered in the FBI’s original probe into the former secretary of state’s email scandal, proving the special treatment she received despite “evidence that some laws were broken.”
Then there was Judicial Watch’s discovery of the classified emails, followed by the FBI’s announcement that it would revisit pay-for-play allegations during Clinton’s tenure in the State Department.

As expected, the Clinton team believes it’s time to let a sleeping dog lie.

Let the issue rest when the justice system has gone through a gymnastics routine to prevent Hillary from facing legal consequences.
Former Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon told The Daily Beast:
The Justice Department should not be opening itself up to the perception that it is bending to political pressures from the White House.
The Justice Department is supposed to operate independently of the White House, and even if this is just a perfunctory step that they’re taking to try to appease the president, that in and of itself is an abuse of the DOJ authority.
What does it matter whether the Justice Department is working independently if it is refusing to apply the law equally and fairly? Republicans might refer to a Georgia expression: “That dog don’t hunt.”
