Ben Carson Finds $500 Billion (Billion!) In Errors During Audit Of Obama HUD




Ben Carson was the first neurosurgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins, so, he's kind of a super hero.

But apparently, he's also not a bad accountant.

President Trump picked Carson to head the Department of Housing and Urban Development, whose budget grew by leaps and bounds under Barack Obama.

In one of his first acts as HUD Secretary, Carson ordered an audit of the agency. What he found was staggering: $520 billion in bookkeeping errors.

"The total amounts of errors corrected in HUD’s notes and consolidated financial statements were $516.4 billion and $3.4 billion, respectively," the auditors wrote.

But there were plenty of other problems, too.


There were several other unresolved audit matters, which restricted our ability to obtain sufficient, appropriate evidence to express an opinion. These unresolved audit matters relate to (1) the Office of General Counsel’s refusal to sign the management representation letter, (2) HUD’s improper use of cumulative and first-in, first-out budgetary accounting methods of disbursing community planning and development program funds, (3) the $4.2 billion in nonpooled loan assets from Ginnie Mae’s stand-alone financial statements that we could not audit due to inadequate support, (4) the improper accounting for certain HUD assets and liabilities, and (5) material differences between HUD’s subledger and general ledger accounts. This audit report contains 11 material weaknesses, 7 significant deficiencies, and 5 instances of noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations.

The same problems were detailed for each of the last three audits, and the auditors say the continued problems “were due to an inability to establish a compliant control environment, implement adequate financial accounting systems, retain key financial staff, and identify appropriate accounting principles and policies."

So, look for Carson to get out his scalpel and start operating. Or perhaps he'll use a machete.










(1) Lawyer Disection Time: Most Deplorables are aware that today Senators Grassley & Graham sent a recommendation to the DOJ & FBI that charges be brought against pee-pee dossier co-conspirator Steele. Good analysis has already been posted, but 1 subtle thing seems overlooked...

(2) Most commentators focus on the second paragraph that alleged violations of 18 U.S.C §1001 which prohibits making false statements to the federal government, which in this case applies to Steele’s testimony to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

(3) The implication in this second paragraph is that the Committee has evidence that indicates Steele lied during his testimony to that Committee. If this were all that is going on behind the scenes, paragraph 2 is all that is needed. However, there is also paragraph 1...
(4) The first paragraph introduces a larger context for this memo to the DOJ and FBI. That paragraph tells the public that Steele compiled a memo at some point during his engagement with the DNC and Fusion GPS and provided that memo to those two entities...
(5) The memo provided to the DNC and Fusion summarized all the media outlets to which Steele colluded with to perpetrate a fraud on the American people. That is an important point catch....One that will not be missed by any media outlet with whom Steele conspired...
(6) To the average member of the public, this fact is passed over and not relevant.

However, imagine you are a person in the media of which Steele approached. Imagine sitting at home alone tonight with your jug of Jack Daniels reading this short memo from Grassley and Graham...
(7) Even the vast amount of hard liquor will not numb the churning intestinal diarrhea of fear they should be feeling. They see something in this memo: a crosshair, and that crosshair is sighted on each member of this memo; this memo that should have been a source of pride...
(8) The memo that meant each one listed was part of the trusted circle, trusted to do the will of the masters, without conscious, and without remorse. But now, instead of a badge of honor, it has become a list of suspects.

And therein lies the strategic angle of paragraph 1...
(9) The elite circle of the co-conspirator media propagandists are shaking like wet poodles in a Boston Bomb Cyclone. They are whiplashed into the realization that they are now one & the same with Steele. While they may not have committed the same crimes, they face an inquiry...
(10) And upon that realization, they are now scrambling like loose calves in a rodeo roping competition. They are likely making phone calls, meeting with advisors, sending desperate emails. They are acting as Paragraph 1 was intended to trigger: afraid and shaken...
(11) With such a statement inserted, where it was not otherwise necessary to present Steele to the DOJ and FBI, I am certain every person on that list has been, and is presently, under full surveillance. And in that position as enemies of the state, evidence is being collected...
(12) This memo from Grassley and Graham is as much to present Steele for prosecution as it is to shake the trees, watch the fruit fall, and gather a harvest of undeniable evidence of guilt...
(13) It may be a year before we see this shoe drop, but from the 3rd day of This presidency when Trump opened up a can of “Fake News” whoop-ass in his first press conference, he has not let up, & won’t, until media honest reporting is restored.
