Bombshell: The FBI reportedly paid for fake-news ‘Trump Dossier’Government watchdog group Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in May with hopes of forcing the department to release “records of communications and payments between the FBI and former-British Secret Intelligence Service officer Christopher Steele and his private firm, Orbis Business Intelligence” in regard to the infamous “Trump Dossier” that reportedly outlines President Donald Trump and his transition team’s alleged ties with Russia.
While the FBI has refused to release these documents, Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton alleges that “the FBI was reportedly paying the authors” of what he called a “political opposition research document.” He said in simple terms: “The FBI was paying the authors of the Trump dossier.”
“Improper and Inappropriate”
According to Fitton, the true interference in the 2016 presidential election was not from the Russians, but from the FBI and Justice Department. He points to evidence of both the FBI and DOJ protecting Hillary Clinton and targeting her opponent, then-candidate Donald Trump, during the height of the campaign.
This targeting of Trump “hasn’t ended,” according to Fitton, “and it’s improper and inappropriate.”
Fitton also concluded that it is clear the dossier — which was produced by the firm Fusion GPS, a firm with ties to the Democrats and Russians — is still unsubstantiated.
“What’s most outrageous is the FBI was using [the discredited dossier] and arguably still is using it to investigate Trump,” Fitton continued.

Paying for Fake News
Even more disturbing, the FBI was reportedly paying Steele, the author of this opposition political research; Fitton alleges that the federal government was paying a private person and their investigatory firm for discredited information to delegitimize a sitting president.
As such, Judicial Watch asked the FBI to turn over documents to the public regarding payment to the authors of Trump dossier, but the bureau has refused to do so.
Fitton concluded that the FBI will not provide the necessary information because it would “expose the document for the fraud it evidently is.”

Above the Law
The House Intelligence Committee subpoenaed the FBI and Justice Department on Aug. 24, demanding to see “any documents, if they exist, that memorialize DOJ and/or FBI efforts to corroborate, validate, or evaluate information provided by Mr. Steele and/or sub-sources and/or contained in the ‘Trump Dossier.'”
In its response to the lawsuit from Judicial Watch, the FBI cited pertinent national security concerns and thereby skirted any accountability.
But with the work of Fitton and Judicial Watch, this will soon be proven untrue.
