Some conservatives are getting the vapors because Trump is waffling on his promise to repeal ObamaCare, prosecute Hillary, reinstate waterboarding, and give global warmists the cold shoulder. Don’t believe everything you read.
Trump's being Trump and doing what he's done all along: muddying the waters, remaining unpredictable, playing mind games with the other side (and sometimes inadvertently with his own).
Obama fears his legacy will be in ruins after January 21, 2017. Given his nature, you'd think he'd be spiteful and petulant following the election. Instead, he has been uncharacteristically gracious to his successor, buoyed by impressions he's influencing Trump to reconsider some legacy-busting positions.
It’s a con. Trump knows the mischief Obama is capable of during his last 60 days. By showing deference to the president and appearing moderate and susceptible to reason, Trump has made it less likely Obama will jeopardize the connection by fomenting transition issues or taking egregious actions on immigration and Guantanamo, for example.
A better gauge of where President Trump will come down in two months is not what he's saying now but the people he's tapped or considering for top posts, e. g. , Pompeo, Sessions, Haley, Bannon, Mad Dog Mattis, Rudy.
Until Trump does a 180 on a campaign promise and a policy follows, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
