Adoption of our national anthem

Adoption of our National Anthem 1931 written by Francis Scott Key: Fourth Stanza: “Blessed with victory and peace, may the Heaven rescued Land Praise the Power that has made and preserved US a Nation...Then conquer we must; When the cause it is just; And this be our motto: “IN GOD DO WE TRUST!” AND THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER IN TRIUMPH SHALL WAVE O’ER THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE.” On June 14, 1954 congress added the phrase “Under God” to the pledge of allegiance... “One nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all.” --- July 20,1956 congress adopted a bill by Florida Representative Charles E. Bennett providing that the National Motto of the United States of America is “IN GOD WE TRUST!”
