Chris Christie, a former prosecutor, would be a huge change from Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, Obama’s two attorneys general.



During a radio interview Tuesday, billionaire businessman Donald Trump indicated that he thought New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was attorney general material, providing the first clue of the role the former presidential candidate might play in a Trump administration.

Trump made the announcement on Howie Carr’s Boston-based syndicated radio program. That venue, perhaps not coincidentally, is where Maine Gov. Paul LePage announced his endorsement of Trump one week ago.

According to Breitbart, the issue was broached when host Carr asked Trump, “Would Christie make a good attorney general in a Donald Trump administration?”

“I think he’d make a great attorney general. He’s a very talented guy. We haven’t even discussed that,” Trump said.

“I watched him make Marco Rubio, literally, I thought he was going to faint. I was getting ready to catch him,” Trump said of Christie’s verbal sparring with the Florida senator in a New Hampshire debate.

“He had a total breakdown on the stage. And I watched Chris do that,” Trump recalled. “I was very impressed with Chris.”
