Supreme Court Ruling Makes Same-Sex Marriage a Right Nationwide

WASHINGTON — In a long-sought victory for the gay rights movement, the Supreme Court ruled by a 5-to-4 vote on Friday that the Constitution guarantees a right to same-sex marriage.

“No longer may this liberty be denied,” Justice Anthony M. Kennedy wrote for the majority in the historic decision. “No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were.”

Marriage is a “keystone of our social order,” Justice Kennedy said, adding that the plaintiffs in the case were seeking “equal dignity in the eyes of the law.” Continue Reading>>>>>Here

Does anyone really understand what the Supreme Courts decision on gay marriage really means? I doubt it.

First it means that gay marriage is now the law of the land. That much is obvious. But how about what that really means.

What really just happened today is that the state, specifically The United States of America government is now officially sponsoring religious behavior. That is specifically denied in the Bill of Rights.

Yes you are now thinking I have blown a gasket. Just bear with me for a few moments. Marriage has always been a religious institution, as in thousands of years. It is a Biblicaly based institution. Marriage licensees do not have a historical precedence. Just over a hundred years ago they were not required and a marriage was strictly a religious act.

Now with this ruling the government has just told religions that they must conform to the governments will. Therefore our government is now an official sponsor of religious behavior and therefore religion.

At what point will this stop? Once a path like this has been embarked upon there is no good ending short of the government getting out of the daily matters of peoples lives. But this will not happen, especially now that very small groups of people (less than 4 percent of the total population) now see that they can force other people and religions to bend to their will.

This is truly a sad day for our country. "

The Supreme Court by making their decision, concerning gays and lesbians, has violated the constitutional rights of all Christians. Marriage and the definition of origins come from religion, the Christian religion. Because the Supreme Court decided to change the definition of marriage, they are violating the Christians religious beliefs, and therefore are violating Christians constitutional rights. The Supreme Court based their decision solely on political and monetary gains, by a group of individuals involved in organized crime, the American Bar Association. The Supreme Court has shown that, they have no respect for one's religious beliefs, and their freedom of religion, and they have no respect for history. The supreme courts decision should have recommended, that the union between two same-sex couples, be distinguished by just that definition, a legal binding union, not unlike a business contract. By encroaching upon religions definition of marriage, they have encroached upon the already existing and recognized globally, religious patent on marriage. The Supreme Court has a conflict of interest in this decision, and should have Recused themselves, from the decision.
