American gun owners are often broadly blamed for the gun violence that occurs in this country.
But that false narrative put forward by the liberal media and progressive politicians is easily debunked, simply by looking at two starkly similar, yet wholly different maps.
You can learn just about everything you need to know about the prevalence of gun violence and gun control by comparing two maps: the FBI map of the United States detailing the number of gun violence occurrences and the 2012 electoral map showing which counties voted Democrat or Republican.
There are striking similarities between the areas of the country with the highest rates of gun violence and the areas of the country that largely vote Democrat.
Urban areas, which often have strict gun control laws, tend to vote Democrat to have high crime rates. Conversely, more rural areas tend to vote more conservative and enjoy significantly lower rates of gun crime and violence, according to The Federalist Papers Project.
Of course, this factual evidence will be dismissed out of hand by liberals, and probably labeled racist, to boot. That being said, the numbers don’t lie.
Now, none of us wants to ban Democrats from owning guns, as we stand firmly and staunchly opposed to gun bans. However, when gun control advocates complain about gun violence, they must be shown these maps and pointed in the right direction for where they should start their efforts at combating gun crime.
Here’s an idea for the progressive liberal gun grabbers: Stop trying to take guns away from everyone, leaving law-abiding citizens defenseless, and follow the lead of the low crime areas. Allow more people to possess firearms for self-defense, which will certainly have an impact on lowering the rate of gun crime and violence.
An armed society is a polite society.
