Eerie Sound From the Sky Is Being Heard Across the World… The Cause Is a Mystery

An eerie sound that seems to come out of nowhere and has no discernible source has been perplexing both researchers and those who have heard it.
The cacophony, which sounds vaguely like an out-of-tune brass ensemble trying to play Lou Reed’s “Metal Machine Music,” has been heard all over the world. One Montana resident who was awakened by it now says he has nightmares of the menacing sound.
The sound has not only been heard in places like Montana and Texas, but also in the Canadian province of British Columbia and in Austria.
Researchers have worked out several theories as to what the noise could be. David Deming, a geoscientist at the University of Oklahoma, has come up with several theories behind what he calls “The Hum.” (I personally would have picked a name that doesn’t sound like a twee-pop indie rock band from Melbourne, but I suppose this is why I’m not in academia.)
Demning said that the “mysterious and untraceable sound that is heard in certain locations around the world by two to ten percent of the population … could include telephone transmissions and ‘aircraft operated by the U.S Navy for the purpose of submarine communications.'”
NASA has said that the sound could just be a naturally-occurring effect produced by radio transmissions.
“For instance, lightning can produce eerie-sounding radio emissions,” the space agency said in a release. “If humans had radio antennas instead of ears, we would hear a remarkable symphony of strange noises coming from our own planet.” (H/T Mad World News)
The more conspiracy-inclined have posited that the sounds come from an HAARP weapon (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) used to alter weather and for air defense. However, for all you amateur Alex Joneses out there, it’s worth pointing out that the noise has been heard around the globe, which rather shoots down that theory.
An even more remarkable theory holds that the sounds are actually The Apocalypse and the Seven Trumpets of Heaven, a sound which heralds the second coming of Jesus Christ as foretold in the Book of Revelation.
Whatever the reason, one thing's for certain: this is sure creepy.
Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if this sound creeps you out, too.
