On Hating

The more you speak the gospel truth to man

The more the world will hate you as you go,

For this is Satan's realm; he has a plan,

And saving souls around him causes woe.

When you praise Jesus Christ your King and Lord,

When you tell others of eternal life,

And how He died for them, His blood He poured,

You'll be despised for causing Satan strife.

Recall how Jesus had his enemies

Opposing ev'ry action, ev'ry word,

For He had come with love to set men free

From Satan's sure damnation oft preferred.

            If you are hated sharing Christ's good news,

            Remember you are walking in His shoes.
