True beauty is not
found in rouge or cream;
The world would have
you buy the latest dream,
And friends are eager
giving their advice.
There is no harm
enhancing what you've got;
The lilies of the
valley shine with dew.
Just don't believe your
beauty can be bought
With slacks, cosmetics,
scent or even shoe.
The splendor of your
being lies within:
That gentle, quiet
spirit God finds dear.
It matters not if you
are thick or thin;
The beauty in your
heart is seen so clear.
Cosmetology can help so much;
The love you have reveals that secret touch.
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Your adornment must not be merely
external--
braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry,
or putting on dresses;
but let it be the hidden person of the heart,
with the imperishable quality of a gentle and
quiet spirit,
which is precious in the sight of God."
1 Peter 3:3-4
