Mercy (a Sonnet)

Now who is worthy of His company?
We all have sinned and failed the perfect life.
Without God's Mercy none of us are free;
In truth we lay beneath harsh judgment's knife.
We all deserve the harshest pits of Hell.
Our sins stacked up would reach the star lit sky,
But God's great Love can cover sin's foul smell,
for on the cross our Saviour made sin die.
When we confess our sins and are contrite
The Lord will show His Mercy and forgive
And, even more, forgets our sin outright.
My brother, give your heart to Christ and live!
O God, withhold the judgment I deserve!
Your Mercy trumps Your Wrath - in Christ I serve!
