Faithful

Such lonely hearts: the ones who've lost their faith,

Who once loved Christ but now doubt all they knew;

Such haunted souls reject the words God saith

And push aside the things they once held true.

Though lost, these fickle few need not despair,

For God is faithful for eternity.

The promises He's made He'll always bear;

Return to His embrace and you will see.

If you have stopped believing, God has not;

You still can feel His Spirit if you try.

Just call to Him if you are overwrought;

He hears your cry if all you do is sigh.

            God's faithful in His vow of love for you.

            The darkest night of soul has morning, too.
