On the Passing of a Brother

Last night a Brother left his body
To be at Home with the Lord.
He walked by faith while among us
And now walks by sight in Heaven.
This Brother was not always of good courage,
Not until he gave his life to Jesus.
When he stepped out of this mortal clothing, though,
His courage was unsurpassable.
He suffered.
He sinned.
He was forgiven.
Now he is beyond all that.
He is nestled in the warmth of his Savior.
We grieve the loss of his company,
This husband, father, friend,
This Brother,
But we rejoice of his entrance
Into the Light and Love of the Lord.
So we smile through our tears
And remember all of his years.
He has left this mortal shell
And gone Home to dwell.
This is not a goodbye.
We will see him by and by.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
