The Secrets Out !

What the US has been trying to keep in the dark is now out in the open. Weapons supplied by Washington are flowing to insurgents fighting the Syrian government in the south of the country and the US funding for months of further deliveries has been approved by the US Congress. According US and European security officials, the weapons, most of which are moving to "moderate" insurgents via Jordan, include a variety of small arms, as well as some more powerful weapons, such as anti-tank rockets. The weapons deliveries have been funded by Congress, in votes behind closed doors, through the end of government fiscal year 2014, which ends on September 30, two officials said. A US official familiar with recent developments has claimed that national security officials and members of Congress are more confident that weapons delivered to southern Syria are going to, and remaining in, the hands of moderate insurgents rather than pro al-Qaeda factions. The US and Britain say they suspended non-lethal aid to insurgents in northern Syria in December after reports that militants affiliated to al-Qaeda seized Western-backed insurgent weapons warehouses.
What do you think about the supply of arms by the US?
Is it not in contrast with the US claims that it supports diplomacy?
How could it impact the Geneva II talks?
