The
dawn-frozen, frost covered lawn crunches crisply
under
the dog's tiny feet as we both breathe in the bracing Southern air
and
then out again in moist, vaporous clouds that disappear
My
silent prayer is clear and simple like the pale blue sky.
Your
immediate Presence warms me from the inside out
and
as we commune I forget the cold winter morning for awhile.
No
matter what the day brings it will be a blessing
wrapped
a million different ways and in clever disguises,
but
this one is stark and piercing as the morning sun
while
You wrap me with Your perfect love.
The
whole Earth will fall away, but not this,
not
this
