We keep hearing from pundits that Chris Christie is the future of the Republican Party, that he is the man who will save the GOP. But what has he done for the GOP in New Jersey?
He didn’t do much to help Steve Lonegan in the special Senate election, which Corey Booker won. Heck, he even had that election take place weeks earlier so it didn’t interfere with his reelection. The Washington Post reported last week that Christie “knifed” an ally by spending Thursday trying to oust a long time Republican leader from power. And Da TechGuy notes that Democrats held onto their majority in the state senate and assembly, and that they only lost one assembly seat despite Christie’s big win.
One house seat? That’s it? You mean to tell me Chris Christie, the Savior of the GOP, the model for Republicans nationwide, success in advancing his party within his own state was barely more successful than a camel spotter in an election he won by 20 points? (Read More)
