Medicaid could be the next disaster for Obamacare

A new phase of the Obamacare launch is coming, this one involving Medicaid. And it could be déjà vu all over again.

On Nov. 1, the health law’s malfunctioning enrollment system is supposed to send reams of data to states so they can begin placing thousands of people into Medicaid. But state officials say that transfer system has barely been tested and could be vulnerable to technical failures like those that have crippled the broader Obamacare sign-up process.

“We’re flying blind on what the process is,” said Kathleen Nolan, state policy head of the National Association of Medicaid Directors. “There hasn’t been the capacity to do a lot of the testing. … There’s a natural concern that with a major load of data to be sent all at once — there is concern that what has been tested may not be able to handle the volume.”
It’s a challenge for state governments, and people trying to sign up for the low-income health care program could be left unsure of their coverage status.

Marilyn Tavenner, who runs the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, on a conference call with states Tuesday did not offer a timetable for a full repair, according to Matt Salo, executive director of the National Association of Medicaid Directors. The date was already postponed once, from Oct. 1.

Thought On this article :

I suspect that this is not an unintended consequence.  Follow this logic:

1.  The people who put this whole "Affordable Care Act" together have always had a goal to eventually migrate to a "single payer (i.e. government) system.  President Obama has stated such in an early interview.

2.  Before you can migrate to a "single payer" system, you have to cause the old system to collapse.  I contend that a primary purpose behind Obamacare is to make the free market insurance companies collapse and thus force people to move over to "Obamacare".

3. Create a dependency on a government program so the politicians can use the "threat" of any change as a bludgeon of misinformation to attack their political opponents.  That's why it is so difficult to get any politician to embrace any entitlements changes.  FEAR.

4. Use the Cloward and Piven strategy to overburden the system and force it to collapse.  By allowing insurance companies to shed their bad risk policies and thus force people to either pay exorbitant fees for Obamacare or go on MEDICAID, the die is cast.  MEDICAID will become overburdened, the states will not be able to support the MEDICAID roles, and eventually it will break their backs and get them to beg for Obamacare--"Big Daddy Government" to bail them out.  Of course, Obamacare will be insolvent because the healthy young people needed to finance the system, will pay a fine rather than sign up. However, since the government can print more money and put out misinformation/disinformation, they will manipulate the sheeple to go along with them.

5. Never let a "crisis" go to waste.  As they create the dependency, overburden the system, collapse the existing system, and use fear to coerce both politicians and drum up constituency support, the "GOVERNMENT" will step in and take control to make sure everyone is protected.

6.  The government will neutralize opposition by using their propaganda media machine to use the Alinsky tactics of demeaning their adversaries--attack them and keep moving the goal line so no one can effectively mount a counterattack.

No, I don't think anything that is happening today is happening by accident, by chance, or unintended.  I think this is another part of the Progressive Master Plan to expand the role of government in our lives.  Think European style socialist democracy.
