The commander in chief addressed the nation last night regarding Syria. The address had been planned to bolster support for a military strike against Bashar al-Assad's regime for its alleged use of chemical weapons against rebel fighters. But, thanks to Secretary of State John Kerry's gaffe resulting in yesterday's Russian proposal to “secure” and dismantle Syria's weapons, Obama's address ended up merging two speeches—one pleading for congressional authorization for an imminent attack and another asking Congress to delay its vote until a diplomatic solution plays out.
As former Ronald Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan wrote, “It was a time filler: The White House had asked for the time and had to fill it.”
The basic problem is that Obama's actions are not governed by overarching principles related to Liberty or our Constitution. Every action is judged on its political merit only. Thus, in the case of Syria, the politically expedient thing for Obama to do, having backed himself into a corner on the Syrian “red line,” was to outsource our policy in the region to Russia, under the pretense of a “diplomatic solution,” when in fact, Russia's only interest is to keep Assad in power in order to maintain its only military base in the region.
Either attacking Syria is in our national security interest or it isn't. Either chemical weapons use crosses the “red line” and means Assad must be removed or it doesn't. Obama came to the American people last night saying “all and none of the above.” In other words, bad strategy, foggy objectives and no persuasive reason to follow his lead. At least the speech was brief.

If last night's speech wasn't proof that electing a celebrity president who is totally incompetent a mistake I do not know what is. This week it was reported that two of the Hollywood supporters that voted for Obama did so because they did not want to appear racist is further proof that being a celebrity does not instill intelligence in a person.
Today is the 1 year anniversary of the Benghazi attact that killed four American. So far the only result has been to boot those in the state department who were responsible upstairs, further proof of a lack of intelligence in celebrity leaders.
My greatest fear now is that the American people have not and will not learn a lesson and will make Hillary Clinton a "celebrity" president in 2016 and we will have four and maybe eight more years of such incompetency if we as a country can last that long.
An Impaired Speech by an Incompetent President. Those fooled by him the first go round, and too stupid or stubborn to admit it the second go round, should be thoroughly ashamed of him. What an embarassment. The National media made a full throttle effort to make GWB look like an idiot, when in fact, although a big government socialists, he was very smart and classy. This clown we have today, may be able to read his teleprompter but he is void of real intelligence, and full of hatered of himself and our wonderful country. We have no interest in the Middle East except Israel, and they are fully capable of taking care of themselves, if we would ever let them off of the leash. Quit buying the oil from the trashy SOB's over there, and let them go back to wiping their butts in the sand, diddling their little boys, and enslaving their women. I could not care less about them. If they attack us, send them to Allah in such numbers, that he will send them a message back to leave us the &%& alone forever. All that said. Barrack Obama is one of them. His father, for whom he wrote one of his two autobiography's about was an American hating Muslim, as was his stepfather. It is genetically and paternally bred into Obama to hate America because we are a Christian Nation. His efforts in the Whitehouse have always been rooted in bringing the USA down. Ruining us, forever changing us. He is too small a man to ever do anything positive. All his desires are for destruction of our economy, our Christian heritage, our standing in the world. He is a piece of trash, and so is his wife. Sadly they have been allowed to occupy Whitehouse. We'll have to steam clean that entire place when they leave assuming it is not a smoldering heap of ruin by that time.
