Woman survives when her car is knocked 40ft off
Chesapeake Bay Bridge – a crossing so scary people pay $25 for a professional to drive – after she SWAM to safety
Fear of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was renewed Friday evening when a car crash caused a vehicle to be knocked off the bridge and plummet 40 feet into the bay below.
The unidentified 22-year-old female driver of the vehicle survived the fall and was able to swim safely to a nearby jetty where she was rescued and taken to a hospital. She was released Saturday.
The crash happened Friday evening around 8:30pm, shortly after she got on the bridge going eastbound about a quarter mile away from the shore.

" A collision involving a tractor-trailer and two vehicles sent a car and its driver over the side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and down 40 feet into the water on Friday night, but the driver was able to climb to safety
Anne Arundel County Fire Battalion Chief Steve Thompson said the driver, a 22-year-old woman, was rescued and flown to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. She was in critical condition late Friday with non-life-threatening injuries.”
