Obama claims he has created 4 million jobs. He could be right. A friend of mine has five of them. My son who goes to college full time has 2 of them. Or did have 2 until he was laid off from one. We are quickly becoming the part time and temporary nation. It is a sad day in America, when our second largest employer is a temporary agency, Kelly.
Liberals hailed the jobs report for June as a great leap forward and it was, for those of us who were facing backward. 195,000 jobs would normally be a decent number, considering that we need to add 150,000 to keep up with the increased population. Not this time though.
The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes
referred to as involuntary part-time workers) increased by 322,000 to 8.2
million in June.
That is a partial paragraph from June’s jobs report. Part time jobs increased by 322,000. That means we didn’t really increase jobs did we? Not full time jobs anyway. Working less hours is exactly like getting a pay cut and struggling families just do not need another setback. And if you look further into the report, the numbers are almost identical to last year and you know how badly last year sucked.
And to add insult to injury, today, we read that most ofour jobs are going to temporary agencies. And even with Obama putting off the employer mandate for a year, things will get no better. Companies don’t like to hire people just to fire them. Especially smaller companies, where you tend to get more personally involved with your workers.
Over the next year, whenever these companies find themselves a bit shorthanded, will they hire or rent? You pay a little more per hour to rent but you don’t have to pay for healthcare, sick days, or vacations and if you are not completely happy with who you got, calling the agency is easier than firing them yourself. It’s been my experience that people like easy.
There is a solution. A way to recover. To jump start America. The government needs to get out of the way and let business do what business does best. To grow and create jobs. America has been doing that ever since before there was an America, and were just a thought in the minds of some truly imaginative men with a vision. And we carried that tradition right up until the day Obama took the reins. We may have to wait until January of 2017, but we can become what we once were.
