“Poverty! Poverty! Poverty!”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has a question for House Republicans on the farm bill: “What are you thinking? Or are you thinking?”
Pelosi entered the debate on the House floor on Thursday with very passionate feelings about poverty in America. She aimed her scorn at members of the GOP,who are trying to split the farm bill from food stamps with their new proposed legislation.
“You are taking food out of the mouths of your own poor constituents,” Pelosi accused.
But the House Minority Leader didn’t stop there, growing increasingly impassioned as she continued her speech.
“Poverty in America,” she exclaimed. “Poverty. I’m saying the word on the floor of the House – poverty! Poverty! Poverty! Poverty! Poverty in America, seems to be a word that people get nervous about.”
