:Massive asteroid to pass Earth, say NASA scientists An asteroid nearly three kilometres wide is set to pass by Earth with no risk of impact, offering scientists a rare chance to study a massive flying object with its own moon.
Asteroid 1998 QE2 will make its closest approach to Earth at 20:59 GMT (10.59am Saturday AEST), at a distance of 5.8 million kilometres, or about 15 times the distance between Earth and the moon, the US space agency said.-more
