Massive tragedy in OK; urgent help needed !!!

May 21st, 2013

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire
Patriot,

I just got off the phone with our friend Gary LeBlanc of Mercy Chefs -- an extremely effective relief organization that Grassfire partners with to help provide hot meals in disaster zones.

Gary shared an important update on the massive, two-mile-wide tornado that has caused horrific devastation in Moore, Oklahoma.

Reports from Moore indicate that much of the entire town has been destroyed. Schools completely leveled. Schoolchildren being dragged from beneath piles of rubble. And more storms may be on the way.

Gary has already finalized plans to be on the ground in Moore later today.  A Mercy Chefs mobile kitchen is already moving from Texas and will be on location soon.

Gary says his team will be serving meals as early as today, at the latest tomorrow.

+ + Urgent Help Needed In Next 72 Hours

Gary's team is bracing for a level of destruction on the ground equal to what took place in Joplin, Missouri -- perhaps even worse.

In the next 24-48 hours, Gary says he must purchase the supplies needed to immediately begin providing hot meals in response to what he expects will be Mercy Chefs' largest relief effort of the entire year.

Simply put, Gary and Mercy Chefs need the help of Grassfire team members urgently right now.
+ + Two Mobile Kitchens Headed To Oklahoma

Due to the magnitude of this crisis, Gary has already made the decision to mobilize a second mobile kitchen as well. Once Mercy Chefs has both kitchens up and running, Gary expects Mercy Chefs will be serving hundreds if not thousands of meals every day.

As a non-profit organization, Mercy Chefs can only extend the hand of compassion as far as faithful friends like you make it possible.

Will you help?
Finally (most importantly) please PRAY for the victims and the emergency response personnel. And pray that Gary's team will be able to respond to this urgent need with the highest possible level of effectiveness.

Steve Elliott

P.S. Gary's contacts tell him the disaster in Moore is on a massive scale. He expects that Mercy Chefs could be serving hundreds if not thousands of meals every day. I told Gary I would share this need with the Grassfire and Patriot Action Team. Thanks in advance for helping.
