We should tak a hard look at ourselves !

Are we being manipulated by the media ? Well yes we are .
Last week we watched the Boston Marathon being disrupted by an attack where 2 bombs were used to hurt and kill innocent spectators at the Boston Marathon and we were offended and angry that anyone would do such a cowardly and despicable act.
The media jumped on this to sensationalize it and keep a running dialog going.  Was this for ratings ?  Maybe ?  Were they steering public opinion ? Well obviously whether by intent or accident they were !
They showed Militarized police running around in swat gear with bullet proof shields  and M4 carbines searching houses and being cheered on by the citizens of Boston, but was this a good idea for a free society ?  You need to think critically about this. Was this a proper use of police and were those police properly trained for a house to house search deploying the same weapons that our seal team 6 used to kill enemy combatants ?
Are we being desensitized to this kind of activities?  Should we be so willing to discard the constitutional rule of law for the perception of security ? You know that the second suspect was captured hiding in a boat in the back yard in Watertown Ma. But did you know that the second subject was badly injured and unarmed and those semi-trained militarized police shot him several more times ?
Are we a nation with the rule of law based on the Constitution, and should we be militarizing our police?  There is a very big difference between a military operation and a police operation  and we may be setting the stage for real trouble by blurring the differences and allowing the police to become military wannabees.
This reminds me of  Germany in 1936 which is a very bad omen
