Liberty for all or just a few?
This is what an embryo looks like at six weeks. It is 3 mm or about 1/8 inch. This is blown up to appear larger. I have a picture that defines the embryo and yolk sac. I joined Friends of Liberty because I wanted a place where my voice could be heard. Not all people on the right agree about pro-choice and pro-life. Recently I have received many posts about Roe v. Wade. That Supreme Court decision was issued forty years ago and has been the law of the land ever since. Many believe it is wrong and many believe that is a great law. It is neither. It is a sad law. One that is now advertised by the Left as romantic and sexy, as seen on Fox News. On the Right we also have this passionate pleas for the unborn. Many pictures are blown up to depict a zygote bigger than it is.
I have been encouraged by my family to speak out, which I do anyway. I am not a liberal, no longer a member of NARAL. I abhor that group. At one time I belonged to it. But as I read their literature, it sickened me. Many of you know about partial and live birth abortions. I do not have to tell you how evil that is. The reason Rove v. Wade will not be overturned is that the Right and Left will not compromise . The Left thinks it is fine to use abortion as routine birth control, while the Right continues to use guilt-provoking sayings and call the women who abort, "Murderers".
I have heard how post-abortion women cried in other women's arms for pro-life counseling. I can tell you how many have cried from relief! I can tell you about a conversation with a friend this morning; she said to tell everyone, "I never think upon it." Is this woman evil? No, she is not, she went on to become a great contributor to society. Where do we draw the line? There is no line. You will always believe what you believe. I never want to convert anyone, not to pro-choice or pro-life. The Left wants to control everything except your reproductive organs, while much of the Right wants to control reproductive organs very strictly.
Science says life begins at conception, but that does not mean it is yet a human being. It does not yet have a brain, a heart, lungs-it has DNA, so the question is not, "when does life begin?" It is, "When do we give the protection to human beings?" So far, the law of the land states up to nine months. That is sick. Most pro-choice women I know would agree that is evil. I have fought against anything beyond the eighth week. That is my line. Each of us has a line; for most of you it is after one has intercourse: the morning-after pill is wrong according to many. Some say the moment of conception. This will never be resolved--not in court or with the millions of pro-lifers or pro-choicers.
It saddens me as I write, that this will most likely be my last blog. I know too many who call themselves Christians who then rant when another Christian speaks out. They call me evil. I will not throw into anyone's face how evil it is to use the children of Sandy Hook, saying Obama wants to save them but not the unborn fetus. I will not go on about how awful it is to witness your sister die after a back-street abortion. I will not preach homilies about descent doctors who were murdered by so-called Christians at abortion clinics. I will stand up for my convictions while I respect yours. History has taught me that when one is vocal on this subject, Liberty suddenly is for the Few, not All.
For my daughter and granddaughter and all women who think differently from the right!
