Voting Procedures

Just sent my State's Department of Elections three questions regarding voting rules. You may want to do the same so that you are prepared...

I have three voting-related questions perhaps you can assist me with:

Is there a way to verify that the vote you cast is properly recorded with a digital machine? What is this procedure?

If during voting, you have difficulty or find that there is a technical difficulty, what is the procedure to to get assistance?

Finally, are any non-(YOUR STATE) Department of Election "observers" permitted in polling places or are they allowed by law, or have "observers" been invited to any (YOUR STATE) polling places? If not, and such an individual is witnessed, what is the procedure to have that person removed?

I got responses within one hour! the were:

1. Once you press the green “VOTE” button the machine chimes and door lights go out. The public and protective counters on the rear panel of the machine each advance by 1.
2. If you need assistance ask the Poll Worker operating the machine.
3. Each party on the ballot can have one challenger authorized in writing by the party’s chairperson in each polling place. Department staff can escort media into a polling place. Other than that, the answer is no.
